Hi, so apparently i posted a topic not long ago regarding my RFE for fiance visa application. We got the letter like finally!! But there are questions in the letter that make us wonder and I hope you guys can help us out! We will be really appreciated!!

Background : My fiance, 36yo is working as US navy and he got transferred to Singapore two years ago. We met through an online dating app called OkCupid. And we decided to stick together because we really really love each other, I, 24yo decided to stay in with him throughout our relationship. Our relationship is witnessed by my family and friends!

So, the RFE requested for:

1) description of the OkCupid website we used to meet each other.

2) to prove that we did not use an International Marriage Broker

how do I go with this???? please help!! :crying::crying::crying:

I met my fiance on OkCupid as well, however I didn't mention that in our petition.

You could just say that it is an dating app or use could user the wilkpedia description which is: "OkCupid (sometimes abbreviated as OKC) is an American-based international operating free online dating, friendship, and social networking website that features member-created quizzes and multiple-choice questions. ... OkCupid was listed in Time magazine's 2007 Top 10 dating websites."

Also maybe send them screenshots of the app or website.

Hopefully that would satisfy the RFE requirement

What Georgia said is your best option. This is a common RFE and the best response is always to send the full TOS and highlight the section where they state it is not an IMB. Also, email their customer service with the question and then print out their response and send that as well.

This is what many others have done and they have been approved.

You can print out the TOS of the website and you can also mail them and have them say it's not a IMBA website.

what are the important words I need to find out in the TOS to prove it is not IMB website? and, what is the question of description for OKC about.....like...am i supposed to show them how it operates etc...

Use the search tool. This topic has been covered many times. Maybe you can get more insight.

Search Tool = awesome info

But ditto what the others said. Send the terms and conditions of the website. Send any documentation you can find about what type of site they are. I saw once where someone contacted OKCupid directly and asked for documentation specific to explain exactly what type of service they are.

I got the exact same RFE. I printed the terms of service and highlighted the sentence on page two that says the site is free. I also included a brief letter explaining that OK Cupid is a free online dating site and not an International Marriage Broker and giving a more detailed timeline. We had NOA2 less than two weeks after I sent the RFE back so don't let it get you down too much. Best of luck!

So I just got email from OkCupid officer whom explained that the website is not an IMb and he is willing to help us to pull out our message transcript even after we deleted our account. That is very nice of them!

Any other things I need to take note of sending them more evidences?

Just the Terms of Service from the website. That and their email will have you covered!

There a few posts here on VJ about OKcupid. You can do a search to find them.>

http://www.visajourn...cupid-question/

Print the terms from the site, and their email. Send those for the RFE response.

This is bad....you are in one of the hardest embassies too they are gonna ask you so many questions i dont know how you will get around having to state you met through ok cupid.

USCIS requieres the imbra leaving info out i would think would invalidate ghe approval.

But i could be mistaken.

They are okay. They don't have to state that they met online on that and that site. The I-129F ask when the met in person. They might be asked about it at the interview and then they can answer there.
