Hello today I am very sad my husband called me from Ghana and said he was denied visa today I would like to know if anyone knows why they hold cases at embassy for 6months before they return them back to the USA is that protocol or what? I have read many post that state it took 18 months for them to hear from USCIS. Also is it possible to get case reviewed sooner than 18 months has there been cases where it did not take that long.

I would like to post details of what happened today at embassy do I do it under this topic or is there a place that I should go to post detail of what happened? Im so hurt and down now however I don't want to be MEAN and not tell what happened I know leading up to my case I was waiting on information from others that had interviews before me some did not post review or details which left me wondering what happen did they make it or not. which is their right to do so but I really found this site helpful and want to repay everyone who gave me advice and encouragement by updating them on the outcome. I told my husband to write everything down that happened but he is so upset that I had to calm him down and get information out of him I told him about this site and told him that I want details so I can update people I said its not good to take from people and not give back because things did not work out. please advise me where to post

I'm very sorry to hear about your denial.

You can leave a consulate/interview review by going to your timeline and clicking where it says "submit review" next to your interview date.

I'm sure they gave him some idea of why they denied him. What's your relationship history? Are there any red flags? What questions did they ask him? You can post your experience with the embassy in the embassy review section. But if you want insight as to why the denial, we need more info. Otherwise, just wait for the NOID/NOIR (i think that's what it is called) and respond fully to that.

So Sorry. My heart breaks for you, my sister.. If you can let us know why he was denied.. Then we can point you in the right direction.

I was rooting for you guys..

You are so right..I think it is selfish for anyone to gain so much from this site and not give a review to help others.

Actually these African nations don't give out reason for denial / i was there and went to the embassy window and they would not even tell me/ the 221g sheet they gave him had no information

when he cam out of interview i went right up and asked to speak to someone and was told the packet had already gone to US RIGHT?? within 20 minutes of him leaving the embassy???

My NOIR came from office here about 6 months after the interview and the reasons were so rediculous like he didn't know what books i read even though he told them at this time she is typing up the 3 books her mom has written and has no time to read others

I thought the reasons were so stupid i did an appeal (only $110 at the time) took a year and our marriage was validated as bona fide but said to reapply

so, don't waste time on appeal,, refile, reassure him that you will work on this case and love him / keep your spirits up and win the visa for your husband

by the time you get to next interview in a year, you will know reasons for what they said about the denial and you can answer them at next interview

send me personal message if you need to be encouraged and i will tell you specifically what i had to do as it invloved commingline of assests which most do not and are not asked to do until the AOS / and by the way at this point when he does come you will be married over 2 years and AOS and that fee are not applicable to you and his green card will be for 10 years

GOOD LUCK and GOD Bless you

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Totally agree

Refile

show USCIS you are serious and your marriage is "for real"

appeal takes too long
