Differences in VISA status

So, let me ask this to you guys.

My interview was October 11th.

On October 17th, the cgirederal.secure.force.com said: "Your passport is being delivered to post?" I assumed that meant it had mailed out and was going to arrive in the next few days. The lady at the Cargo Trans was supposed to call us. We haven't been called for three days, and we live right next to the capital.

So I finally checked the CEAC status, and it says "administrative processing" but was not updated until yesterday. Why was one account saying my passport was on the way, and now the CEAC is saying something different?

Some data entry people are slow to update the site / ours said ready for interview a year after his visa and him arrived in the US

In your case if he was approved for visa all AP means is they were working on the visa packet he has to bring to the US

so, go to the Cargo transit and ask / tell them you were told the visa was being delivered or email the embassy

Mine has been the same for 3 days now. Passport is still being delivered to post and visa status is ap. As long as you were Approved I wouldn't worry too much. I was told I'd get a email when his passport/visa was ready for pick up maybe they'll do the same for you

Best of luck to you both

The lady in the cargo Trans actually said she would call him, and she took his email. (His birth certificate was dirty, so we had to send them a clean one. We were still given the approved papers, and they told us we were approved though).

I needed a different sponsor for the affidavit of support but once we got that we were told to bring his passport and affidavit to the place we chose to pick up his passport/visa after it was issued so I think we're going through very similar things right now. Our interview was on the 12th the co told us approved which was the most important thing and she also said about 2 weeks from when we drop off the new affidavit we should get his visa , did they say the same to you as well ??

Actually, they kept our passport. It seems like you had to take yours to Cargo Trans. We sent my fiance's birth certificate the following day. On Monday, our status on cgi website changed from "Your passport is with Consulate/Embassy" to "Your passport is being delivered to post."

I thought that meant they were mailing it. I checked CEAC, but it still said Ready, so I figured it just wasn't updated. I didn't check it again until this morning when it said administrative processing since yesterday.

The lady at the embassy told us it would take 7 days from when they received the birth certificate.

Oh, wait, just checked CEAC. It says Issued.

Oh good congratulations!!!! I think maybe different embassy's do the processes differently and in dr they use mailbox etc to do the delivery and pick ups of the visa/passports

I know we'll get it before then, Oct 28th, but we need to go through Costa Rica first by bus (8 hr bus trip), so that will add on to our journey.

My wife's visa took 10 days to arrive at Mall Of Asia, about 2 miles from the US Embassy in Manila. Cost us an arm and a leg to change our flight reservations to the US...but in the end it was ALL WORTH IT! Good luck and God Bless
