Help! Mother's surname wrong on birth certificate

Hi everyone,

I have my K1 visa interview in 2 weeks and can't believe I have only just noticed this now!

My mum signed her name on my birth certificate with my Dad's surname (which is the same surname as mine). They are married but she never legally changed her name, and has always gone by her maiden name. Her maiden name is also on my BC under the 'maiden name' section. I filled her maiden name out for her on the G-325A and DS-160, and is in fact her legal name. Is this going to pose any problems at my interview? And do I need to get any further documentation to prove her name?

Thanks so much in advance for any help! I feel really stressed :/

I highly doubt it will be an issue. Especially, since her maiden name is listed on your birth certificate. Don't stress out. Nothing you can do now so don't stress. If asked just explain the situation.

I agree with LionessDeon. I don't think this is going to be an issue at all.

If they ask, you explain. It's a simple explanation anyway.
