Philippines 'Break Up' With USA. Will This Affect Immigration?

We are just starting our journey (I will file the 129f next week) and now Duterte announced that he is separating the PI from the USA. Any thoughts on how this might impact the K1 process? I know this just happened and is still evolving, but it is a real concern.

11/01/16 - Delivered at Lewisville, TX
10/31/16 - NOA1 Text and Email. Case sent to CSC
11/04/16 - NOA1 Hard Copy Received
01/13/17- NOA2 Text and Email  **wohhoooo 76 days**
01/20/17 - NOA2 Hard Copy Received 
01/27/17 - Embassy Received. Case status set as Ready
02/07/17 - Medical ( Passed!!!!)
02/23/17 - Interview (APPPRRROOOOVVEEDDDDD)
02/24/17 - Visa Issued

02/28/2017 - Visa in Hand =)

04/03/2017 - Pick up our doggy passport for our fur child
04/06/2017 - Arrived in USA!!!

04/24/2017 - Applied for SSN

04/28/2017 - SSN arrived, got a state ID card and opened bank account

06/05/2017 - Passed the DMV test! Yey I can drive. 

06/09/2017- Our Wedding 

06/30/2017 - Submitted our AOS packet 

07/05/2017- Check got encashed and notification that they received our packet 

07/11/2017 - received a text and email for NOA1 

07/17/2017 - hard copy of NOA 1 received in the mail for (EAD, AP and AOS)

08/04/2017 - biometrics scheduled 

08/14/2017 - received update that they are ready to schedule the interview

That has come to my concern too. But I am hoping and praying that it won't be a problem. For the political issues should not influence our interest to reunite and spend our lives with the people we love.

Relax, nothing is changing. Duterte can only do so much without the "blessing" of the senate. (you do know that couples do this process for IRAN?)

File your petition ... !! :thumbs:

Yeah, I was thinking about that as well. I know of couples whoi file from enemy states. I guess we will be alright. :)

I woke up and saw this news this morning....it is sad to see this happening. Our K-1 petition is already started but I still wonder what the future holds even with the senate still needing approval, Duterte is very determined to get what he wants. China has big money to throw around, and Russia is as usual the same big bully.

For now things should be normal. But if the relationship between the US and PHL continue to deteriorate it will likely have an effect on immigration in a sense that the US won't be as "generous" as they are now with visas for the PHL.

One thing the U.S. is not generous with is visa for Filipinos. Aside from spousal and fiancee visas it is not all that easy to get a visa for a Filipino. Approval of spousal or fiancee visas are not country limited... you can even get one for IRAN

If this is really what he is trying to achieve I wish he can deliver it in a non threatening way. I feel embarrass about his choice of words and how miscalculated he talks to other people.

worry not, though I myself is worried :cry::rofl: I just watched him through live news of PTV awhile ago and He said that diplomatic relationship is still intact! its only the foreign policies that he wants to be separated with.. He said if we Filipinos here in the US are worried, the americans in the PH should be worried as well.. I think, we are safe, I hope...
