I'm an old time member. I had to register as a new member because I can't remember my info anymore. Any way over-50 issues aside I have a question about K2 stephild age:

Do you still have to establish the parent child relationship before the age of 18?

Thank you in advance. You all have been a great help in the past

To clarify the child in question is 18. I have read that they can enter as a K2 derivative and AOS before 21. I don't really understand the difference. Thanks again....Barry

hi

what you are saying is a petition for a stepchild when the marriage has already taken place and not by k1. if the stepparent would have already been married and filing for stepchild, then the marriage would have had to take place before the stepchild was 18

but K1/K2 visa is different, you are going to marry the parent, in this case the child can come with parent before turning 21

the visa allows the future stepchild to enter the country before the age of 21

Thank you very much. That's what I thought in what I read. Yes, it will be a K1/K2 situation.
