My experience coming back to the US after vacation (Advance Parole)

With the AP and EAD approved (AP/EAD Card in my hand) but with the AOS still being process, I decide go to Europe for 12 days before I start working in the US.
My experience with the TSA when I get back in to the country was a good one.
I went to the Visa/Visitors line, when was my turn I give my passaport and card (no letters or marriage certificate), after processing my info and fingerprints, the TSA agent ask me to follow him.
We walk around 30 feet, he told me to sit in some chair that they have there and wait for him (other people are there too).
After around 5 minutes he brought back my documents, gave them to me and told me I can go.

So in the end, was a pretty good experience, I had to wait, but not a long period of time (the ORD was not all that busy) and now I have a parole "stamp" in my passaporte with the validation of a year that says AOS.

So for all the others that are thinking about leave the US because of a emergency or for vacation, put in consideration my experience, I can say it was a painless experience come back to the country.

Some factors like, get a nice TSA agent, arrive to ORD in a not busy time and have all the paperwork in order probably help with my experience.

Hope this share can help others, like many others posts here in the forun help me.

That does sound like a good experience overall. I am a USC and coming back through ORD is sometimes terrible experience. They almost make you feel like you did something wrong and don't know about it. hahaha. Glad yours was a pleasant one. :dancing:

Thanks you! Was nice finally seeing it approved in the website and I already receive my green card in the mail. The weird thing is, we never went to a interview... Why was that? O.o

My husband and I are going on our vacation in a couple of weeks. We received EAD/AP combo card in the mail last week. Is this all the document that we need when travel international?

I think all you need is a passport valid for more than 6 months and EAD/AP card.

However, it doesn't hurt to be prepared for the unexpected.

I copied few documents to be prepared to travel using AP. Here is what I'm taking just in case: a copy of the AP/EAD card, a copy of AP approval notice, a copy of AOS receipt notice and a copy of marriage certificate.

Pretty sure I might not even need them but it makes me feel more at ease having them with me just in case.

Like I said, with me I only need to show my card and my passport, but I had my marriage certificate and the other papers (just in case, but I don't even have to show them)
