Im a nurse here in the philippines. I am not a US licensed nurse or i havent take the nclex exam cuz its too expensive. I know someone who have a care home in US and willing to petition me for working visa, my question is, am i eligible being a nurse to apply in their care home as a caregiver?

I did some research that nurse is eligible only in h1b if he/she passed the nclex exam and able to apply as nurse in US. But then what i am applying is as caregiver not as a nurse. So am i eligible?

Medicine/health care is a really difficult field for immigrants to break into in the US. Almost everyone has to do some kind of exam/certification/retraining.

I really doubt you'd be able to work without passing some kind of exam. H1B is for skilled workers, so I don't think "caregiver" would qualify for that visa.

Aside from the fact that I don't think the US is so desperately short of care-givers that an employer would be prepared to pay as much as it costs to get you into the US. Also, they would have to wait until October of next year for you to start work on an H1B (if you even qualified for that visa type). Surely care-givers are needed faster than that? It's not the kind of job that you can wait that long for someone.

Almost all work visas, you don't apply, your employer does. It costs them $6000+, which is why employers rarely do that for jobs like caregiver that are close to minimum wage. Also, they would need to show that they cannot find USCs or greencard holders who can do the job, and caregiver is an unskiled job in the USA, so that is difficult.

You may be able to get a seasonal job visa, that lasts for 6-ish months, or a J1 intern type visa, as au-pairs can get those.

There is no such thing as international medical/healthcare degree = automatically accepted in the US. You have to do exams to prove your knowledge and only then will your prior degree/training be accepted.
