Search option

Now it is more clear that you can search the entire site when you use the top bar (what people actually expect but was always just the forums). The forums search is on the member bar as stated earlier (and advanced option too -- click on the link).

Sure thing. Can you please explain what parts were not clear on how to use and what you had to discover on your own. I may add it to a site guide for new members .

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I have been on an off the computer tonight.

Previously when I used the top bar it would never give me any results, even if I used the advanced search. I hadn't tried to use it in a while so I guess I'm not really sure if it was just a temporary glitch or not.

But it doesn't really matter now anyway, the new search bar at the top is WONDERFUL. I tried it out and I really like how it works now. I think it is just in a better spot since that is probably where most people go first, instead of the one at the bottom of the text box. So I don't know if there will be any extra instructions necessary.

At the risk of sounding message board illiterate, I have a suggestion, could there be a posted explaination on using the search option? I don't know why, but the search at the top of the page doesn't work as well as the one in the forums, but the one in the forums is not as easy for a new user to find. When I was first on here I was very frustrated when I needed to ask easy questions I would rather search. It took me a while to find the forum search. This might cut down on excessive simple questions.

I know I sound blind, but when a new user is on this site(especially one like me that had never participated in a message board before), there is so much to look at it can be overwhelming. A few pointers on the search option would help.

I would like to know why the top of page search(never even seen the other one?) can't let you search words like 'AP' or 'EAD'?

if you want to do a search for AOS, EAD etc.. just put a * right after it....

You no longer need to on the main search. In fast you can search for things as short as "k1". How is it working for everyone?
