Just wondering, would it make that much of a difference if Kathlene goes back to her family outside of Cagayan de Oro after her interview, or stay in Manila until she gets her visa in hand?

It will be a few weeks after she gets her visa before I will be able to fly in so we can return to the USA together, so I thought it would be best for her to spent the last few weeks with her family, since it will be a year or so before we can return for a visit.

I just didn't know how much it would delay the delivery having to have it delivered to another island.

Ako gugma ko GWAPA asawa Kathlene!

I believe that the Embassy uses a special courier, DELBROS, to deliver to the address that you have listed with NVC.

But you would have to actually discuss this with Embassy personnel.

She can request to pickup her VISA instead of Delbros delivering, but its entirely up to the officer interviewing her, she needs to ask after her interview is over.

I'd vote for her to return to the province after the interview. There is no guarentee that the USE will release the visa immediately, and Delbros will deliver to the province (just takes a few days longer). Since it will be a few weeks before she comes to America anyway, there really is no point in staying in Manila. Just remember to give yourself enough time in Manila before ya'll leave to attend the CFO seminar and have the visa stamped. Whatever time she can spend with family before she finally departs will be precious for her, so she should take advantage of that.

It was cheaper for Claudeth to go back to Cagayan, she doesn't have any family in Manila to mooch off of :P I paid for her and her Mother to stay at the Bayview for that week between her medical and the interview. Once DELBROS sent her the text that they had her visa packet it only took another day for her to receive it. Good luck

Hey I'm glad someone mentioned this :P We are planning on spending the month of May in Manila because we don't want to pay double rent in Cebu. THe interview is May 16 and we may as well use up the remaining couple weeks and get the visa by hand (if allowed). But if they give us the visa within a week, we're sure to get back to Cebu fast and get a ticket "outa here!" hehehe. Thanks for the info and good luck! :)

Just remember to give yourself enough time in Manila before ya'll leave to attend the CFO seminar and have the visa stamped.

She has already attended the CFO seminar, they required her to attend before she could get her passport, so she only has to go to Cebu so they can stamp her passport once they deliver the visa, so I guess she can leave as soon as the interview is over.
