Just started compiling all of the info for the I-129F. What fun!

I'm glad I checked out this site, as the official I-129F instructions aren't detailed in terms of evidence gathering. I would have been hit with a huge RFE.

Just had a new passport pic taken today, as the one I took a month ago had me wearing glasses, and now as of Nov. 1st, glasses on passport photos are officially a no-no, so I'm glad I caught that this morning. I also had been experiencing difficulty in getting fiancé's photo printed, as the photo kiosks themselves won't print 2x2 images. I discovered after FIRST going to Walgreen's and FedEx/Kinko's where service reps they said they are unable to print passport photos from their specific system because they are Bluetooth synced to their camera and can't import pre-existing photos. Both suggested trying their kiosks, but the systems are too idiot-proofed, meaning they wouldn't allow me to simply maintain 2x2 dimensions. Same with Walmart kiosks.

Finally begged FedEx guy to just print it on glossy paper...but the result was a 2x2 photo, but the white paper was too matte, no glossy. Apparently, that was the best they could do. Finally went to Office Depot, where after a little adjusting, they were able to print out a glossy sheet of 2x2's. I high-fived the girl. I don't know what you others had done, but here was my experience.

Only issue is that the photo doesn't quite align with official passport scale dimensions, as fiancé's head is larger than the recommended parameters. Does anyone know how particular USCIS is regarding this? Fiancé is on white background, ears showing, no glasses, 2x2...just head a little large....

Yes I have read on here where some have received RFE's for not having the proper passport photo specifications. If I were you, I would play it safe and just get them done at a professional vendor. I believe Target has an option to upload photos and print 2X2 on glossy paper.

Are you trying to print a picture you took yourself?

Walgreens took the photos for us against a white screen.

Then printed 2 out, already cut to size within 10 minutes. It cost about 14$ I believe.

Wrote name on back, no RFE.

My fiance is in London.

There they have photo booths. (Like the fun ones in the mall)

Specifically for passport photos. Even let him pick between UK and US size.

They take several pictures, you pick the best, and it prints out 4.

Do they have anything similar?

I definitely would try to get a correct one. It would really depend on how strict the person reviewing your package is.

Get one you're 100% confident with, or trust me you will worry and it will drive you insane until you get your update!

Goodluck!

Thanks Tieary! Getting my passport stateside was easy, I just expected printing out a passport picture sent via-email from overseas would have been easier than it turned out to be.

But yes, that is good advice about having that peace of mind. Best of luck!

I got mine at Target for my fiance for the I129 and for the ones he needed. Target lets you edit them online and then send them to their store. I got them and I sent them to him from a file he sent me. The looked perfect and the first one was accepted. He sent me ones from India but they were to small. It took me a while looking around to find an easy way to get them.

Thanks,

Robert
