My wife just had her interview last month and was given a blue slip 221g "asking for timeline, list of relatives" she went to the consulate to turn all the requirements in and waited for 4hrs. After that they cam out and give her another blue slip "ur case requires additional necessary administrative processing in our office" no additional doc needed. It've been 2week and we still haven't hear from them. My wife said there r alot of other people who have blue slips too but on their slip 221g was stated "further addtional process" mine didn't mention anything about 221g but just AP. So I'm just wondering if there is any different if 221g was mentioned or not. And what is the different between "AP" vs "Further processing" Thank you sooo much for taking ur precious time to read my message.

I know we have some red flags...*she have relative in US and I know her through her sister* * she apply for US visitors visa in 2008 but was denied*

I read somewhere and they say that the person hAve to be informed that they are being put under "AP". But in some of those other people cases it just say further addtional process and not specific so im thinking that could be something else. Some of the people my wife talked to don't even know what process they are being put on

You need to start it all over when the co give you 221 G for Ap. your aplication has 4 moths period from the approval date by the time the CO send it back to the USCIS it will be expired, and the USCIS will not reaffirm it or reopen your case. Believe me I'm experience that.

Nope...they didn't keep the passport :-( omg this AP is killing me...I heard ppl say some waited for years...I rather for them to just tell us straight up denial then to confuse us with this AP and make us wait 4ever just to get a late denial...sigh

Am so sorry to say this but the second blue sheet will give u guys another 6-8 months to wait. In Vietnam, this is the sign that consulate will put ur case on hold. People stay in AP almost a year. U guys should have mind prepared and make many visits during the waitin'. Dnt expect anything come fast now to be stress free.

Hope things go well.

Is there anything I can do to help my case? Wish I've found this forum before the interview and 2nd blue slip. I know there were some cases where approval was given after AP and again some were denied. Some even got a straight up denial right after they submit the request.praying n Hopefully my case will be one of the lucky one...

Difference in cases

they do not review K1 if in AP / it is sent back and allowed to die

she is CR 1 spouse / they can do AP at embassy and approve or deny / if sent back to US they can ask for additional information in RFE and deny or reaffirm and return to embassy for another interview / she also can appeal a denial of CR 1
