I’ve recently experienced the same thing. I went to Jamaica and met a man at the resort I was staying at. He treated me and my family very nice during our stay and even told my mother that he really liked me and the vibes we shared together.  So far he hasn’t done anything that I would considered “ red flags” he hasn’t asked me for money or anything. We talk everyday 3-4 times a day! Of course he wants to me to come back and visit him again. Things have moved fast while  surprisingly isn’t like me at all , but it just feels right for some reason. I do want to others experiences and the outcome.

Just take your time and get to know him. I would not travel down there by myself either, not this soon anyway. Ask alot of questions. Video calls are great too. Alot of them are charmers for real, thats why you have to stay focus and still have fun!! go on dates when you do go down there, go out to parties to see how he interacts with you in a crowd. Go around his friends too. Just be safe and enjoy urself.

Thank you so much. I plan on taking things so slow as far as going back to visit I want to wait a little while establish more trust and see where this is going. We video call all the time through WhatsApp he always wants to see my face. He’s been very honest as far as sharing that he has a daughter , but no dealing with the mother of his child. I witnessed that today during on video chat. He’s introduce me to the family and friends he has in the area ( they all say that he seems happy with my company since he’s always on the phone these days lol ). I find comfort that when he does mention me coming back to visit that he wants me to tell my mom ( that he met on my vacation) when I’m planning to see him so that they will know my where abouts.  He has dates plans and how it wants to wait on me hand and foot once I return.

met my fiance at a resort in Montego Bay where he was working.  We got together in August, engaged in November and in process of k1 as we speak.  I travel every 6 weeks to see him in person. Yes, TONS of trust issues, and working through things (as he was entertainment at the resort and we all know the perks of that job)...but its alot of work and getting to really know each other.  We have our ups and downs in the process but we are both ready for him to move here and start our life together.

i am very close to his family (mom, sisters, aunts), his friends, etc.  we visit every time im there, we talk daily on whats app (him and his family and some of his friends)

its not easy by any means, but worth it

Congratulations! Loving all the stories☺️ I wholeheartedly agree with your mom. And you can’t let the fear of how others live their lives keep you from your happiness. I always say trust the journey. Everything happens the way it’s supposed to. And you will be together for as long as you’re supposed to be. Hopefully and prayerfully that will be forever❤️ Best wishes to all.

Well ladies I am happy for all of you. I will tell you that the trust issues and the unsure questions are all normal.  My husband and I finally got married after 10 years.  I really had wished I had someone in my corner really supportive.  I met my husband on Christmas 2008 and after each of us had a horrible night at grand market. We weren’t at a resort or anything just at a local party up in Browns Town.  We didn’t have all the smart phone technology like we do now so it was truly hard.  I was also in the military so I could fly to see him as often as I was always deploying.  It took me getting injured and going through some rough patches before I realized that were were meant to be.  So don’t doubt yourselves women as you are the only ones that get to live this life and don’t wait to share it with whom you want to share it with.  I often fine myself thinking about all the things missed out on due to my fear.

Morning ladies. I didn’t read every response but definitely take of your time getting to know each other.  I used to be a regular in VJ years ago. I filed for a K1 visa for my then Fiancée and he came to US in 2004. Got married in 2005. I had the same doubts. We’re still happily married but it hasn’t been easy.

I’ve met so many ladies in the same situation from VJ. We’re still really good friends. Most marriages did not work out but they are a few of us who made it being married after 8+ years. So it’s possibly

I recently met what appears to be the love of my life while in Jamaica. please share your experience with dating Jamaican men as everything I am reading online has me wanting to run towards the door and I also feel that it is shaping the way I look at him. when I talk to him everything feels so genuine. its only been about 3 months and we talk everyday at least 3-4 times a day. he works at the resort I stayed at and the rest is history. he did " fall in love" pretty fast has mentioned marriage and "breeding" me. thanks in advance.

Just take things slow if he loves you he will wait on you and be ready for whatever you are ready for.  Go visit him off the island bring some friends with you if you dont want to be alone. Get to know him, his friends and family.
