Welcome to the forum.

It is a standard request to need a Notarial Certificate of Birth, AKA "White Book" for the GUZ consulate. There are several good sources of information on this topic, including the pinned thread about Chinese marriage visa terms and definitions, located at the top of the Regional Forum, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/393969-chinese-marriage-visa-terms-and-definitions/ and this informative thread from earlier this year: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/590723-china-birth-certificate-or-lack-there-of/ . I would also suggest that you take some time and review several pages of prior regional forum postings, this is an oft-asked topic.

HTH,

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Oct 26 may be too soon; u can reschedule at CGI Stanley it if you don't have documents ready.

He should have downloaded the "K Visa Instructions Sept 2016". It states birth, unmarried status, an police record must be from the local Notary Public Office. Find this office and ask them. For us, we had to go back to local Public Security Buearu to get "no criminal record" and "updated birth certificate" because it original had wrong DOB. Then you takes this items to the local Notary and they will turn in in whitebooks which takes up to 5 business days. The whitebook wiill contain the citizen ID, dob, parents names, etc.

I can't say for sure. They don't care about the original 30 year old certificate of birth. The local local notary asked us to go to local village and ask for new certificate of birth. The original had the incorrect DOB that didn't match her chinese ID card anyways. They should be able to look up her parent's citizen number so it can be included in this new birth certificate. Then she took that hand written new birth certificate (by some local village officer) and the local notary converted it to whitebook. There is no straight forward process but it gets easy if the fiancee just goes to notary, translation service company, local police, and ask around. Google Image search "china birth certificate whitebook". Those are the whitebooks you will need for interview.

Info appreciated James1520 and pitaya!!

Now he is asking how to get a certificate of birth that's says cirtificate of birth unavailable???

DO NOT ask for a birth certificate. That is a can of worms you DO NOT want to open. They have been issued at birth ONLY since since the 1990's.

The notarial certificate of birth is what is needed.

She MAY need to go to the Gong Zheng Chu where she was originally registered on her parents' hukou.

Notarial Certificate of Birth

Most confusion with the Chinese Notarial Documents is with the Notarial Certificate of Birth. Prior to 1991, birth certificates were not issued at birth. A notarial certificate with translation must be generated from the hukou. Note that if the applicant is no longer in their parents' hukou, they may need to provide other certified evidence to indicate the parents' names.

A notarial certificate is NOT necessarily a translation of an existing document. It is a statement BY the notarial official based on the evidence you present as to the facts of the matter. In other words, the Notarial Certificate of Birth will be generated ON THE SPOT at the Notarial Office, or Gong Zheng Chu (公证处). If they demand that you produce a "birth certificate" for them to certify, you may need to get creative, such as by going back to the PSB to get a certified statement of the facts needed for the Notarial Certificate of Birth.

The notation on the notarial birth certificate is 出生公证书, or chu sheng gong zheng shu, which is what you need to ask for at the Gong Zheng Chu, or 公证处֤֤֤.

A sample Notarial Certificate of Birth may be found at http://candleforlove...books/?p=626052

NOTE: If the link is broken, try http://travel.state.gov/ and search for "Reciprocity by Country" (they seem to change this periodically)

See http://candleforlove.com/forums/topic/48295-chinese-essential-documents-white-books/?p=628742 for an image of an actual birth certificate.
