i want her to visit us here i been gone for about 10 years and never got a chance to visit Philippines, now its more harder coz i have a new born baby its more expensive for us 4 (husband,me and 2 daughter's) to visit philippines so id rather her come and visit u.s.a and also planning to have baby dedication once shes here(sister)

i will be the one will buy her air ticket.

i read somewhere at website says that what ever name you call, relative in the u.s.a are always allowed to financially help their relatives visit the u.s.a.

You can certainly pay for her ticket, no law against that.

Let us know how it goes.

Your sister must provide strong ties in the Philippines on her own. Properties, money nor children are no longer considered as strong ties. Properties can be disposed and the other parent or other family members can take care of children. Even if you will pay for all the expenses, the CO is not particular with that, they are looking for compelling reasons for her to come back.

When I applied for my tourist visa; I brought with me my employment certificate with proof of income, Tax Returns, binding contract with my employer, proof of property, etc. Actually everything possible that I can think off. But nothing was asked from me, I was asked series of questions and that I answered and I was approved.

Now, for your sister- you did not mention if she she is working. A high paying job, long tenure can be a strong ties in the country. Have she traveled to other countries in the past? Given what you mentioned, there is a very slim chance she will be approved.

hi Cristina16,

first thanks for your reply..

if the Officer ask how can you assure me that you will come back? i have a husband, money in the bank( not much) property , and i have a younger brother staying with me. and they plan to petition him soon. and i don't want to ruin his chance to go to u.s if i overstay at u.s, so i have no intensions to reside beyond the approved visa date.

u think that will be enough answer..

thank u so much :dancing:

You overstaying will have no impact on your Brothers immigrant petition.

What you mentioned are not really strong ties and compelling reason to come back. An mentioned your brother's petition is a totally different case.

Based on my interview experience and observation when I was in the embassy, the line of questioning is not the same as you cited. Here are some questions asked from me:

- what is the purpose of your travel

- where are you going to stay/ how long

- who will pay for your trip

- what do you do

- how much is your salary per month

- have you traveled to other countries

- what is your course in college

No documents was asked.

There is no harm in applying, anyone can always try. No one can guarantee or answer you that she can get a visa. I still say she have a very slim chance.
