How to drop your middle name from your naturalization certificate

Hello all

My wife was recently naturalized. On her N400 we asked for her name to be shown as "First name" then "Middle Initial" then "last name." But on her naturalization certificate, they changed it by spelling out the entire middle name which causes a big problem. There was a form attached to the certificate stating that they changed it so that it would match the name on file with USCIS.

Now there's no point in talking about why they do such things. But my question is, how do I go about getting it corrected? Has anyone done this, because technically it's not a name change. Same first name, same last name, just remove the middle name.

There's nothing more frustrating than dealing with the federal government.

I suppose - is the middle name actually incorrect? People don't have just a middle initial, it represents a name. Does it matter if it's on her certificate if its correct? My middle name shows on mine but I never use use it, seldom even sign with my middle initial....my US passport contains it of course.....but my state id shows :

Firstname /initial/ Lastname

Personal thought would be its a lot of trouble to remove something (if they will at all) if its actually correct.

Why did you want just a letter for her middle name? Im sure they put the whole name because that doesnt make sense. You van go to the court system and get a legal change of name. As has also been pointed out, middle names arent really used to anything so im also not sure why it matters if her certificate has it on there.
