We are planning on getting married at the city hall because we are not financially ready for a big wedding at the church yet.My family wants to be at the church wedding that we will have because the trip to US would be really long for them and they can't come for both weddings. Is it going to be a problem and affect my visa if they cant come?

They don't care who attends your wedding. My in-laws weren't there at our wedding but it wasn't a problem during my interview.

Don't stress about it. Good luck!

As long as you get legally married in some manner to fulfill the "requirements' of the visa, it does not matter if you have 1 guest or 1,000. As long as you get married.

My parents couldn't attend my wedding,I married in my husband country and my mother tried to get the time off but couldn't. His cr1 visa was approved recently and we plan to have a small wedding celebration for my family when we get to the states. Remember not everyone can get a tourist visa so I don't think they'll hold that against you. My family has never met my husband only my mother has talked to him and she was the only one that wrote a letter knowing of our relationship and intent to marry.

Good luck to both of you

We have to have letters from our family to the interview? I didn't know that till nwo. Is it necessary? I thought I only have to bring my letter of intent to marry my fiance within 90 days.

No that's for the I-130 and isn't required I'm sorry I didn't mean to confuse you

I'm married and did a different visa but it was still approved even know my family didn't attend

No it doesn't matter for your adjustment of status or visa.

1 )We have to have letters from our family to the interview? I didn't know that till now. Is it necessary?

2 )I thought I only have to bring my letter of intent to marry my fiance within 90 days.

1) No you do not.

2) Yes you do. Make sure it's signed within the last 30 days before the interview.

Does not matter if parents attend re: your approval ,but for the ppl who loved ones

are in separate locations & cannot get visas you can do skype weddings, have the

guests abroad gather for the evenf via skype on a big screen, my friend mom died

abroad & her brother & a cousin could not attend, they had the funeral skyped and

additional family members were there...They even have streaming companies now

offering such services

I did court wedding as well, I had to have two witnesses (required in NJ court) and they were my sisters. No one else. Just check the requirements for your state - NJ also want one witness for the License ($10) application ($28)

I cleaned My Timeline. Hope nobody minds
