Can I delay my interview at us embassy at cairo ?

Hi ,we applied for cr1 visa and now we are asking about if we can delay the interview day , and if yes , for how long we can delay it ?

And also we want to know after how long since the husband gets the visa he has to leave to us ? I mean does the visa has expiration ?

I don't know how long you can delay but being a mena country you may find many other delays so I wouldn't delay the parts I can control.

If you can't attend the interview at the time that was appointed to you .. you have to call them as soon as possible .. but if no show or no call during one year from your appointment .. your case will be terminated and you have to start from scratch... and the visa expired in six months .. this is an example of IR1 Visa: was issued on 07 October 2016 and Expiration date is 21 Mars 2017

Validity of the visa is tied to the validity of the medical exam so that 6 month deal may not be the case. The medical exam will only be valid for 6 months from the date it is conducted and the expiration date on the visa will reflect that.

For example, if a medical is done on October 20th but the interview does not happen until December 5th and the visa is issued on December 10th, the expiration date on the visa would be April 20th.

when a medical exam was taken a week or 10 days before interview .. and visa got issued or approved on the day of interview . So it's expiration is 5 months 2 weeks .. ( 6 months ) who's gonna go to his medical exam a month and a half or two months before interview .. consulate suggested that you go to your medical few days before interview.. but if the visa wasn't s approved on your appointed date . And you were put on AP for quit awhile ..may be more than 6 months .. in this case .. your medical exam expires and you will need a new one when they need to issue your visa ..

But if you were put on AP for two months then visa issued .. you have to leave to US before your medical exam expires . Means you have almost 4 months to leave ... I guess
