hi dazzels,

how are you???

today did you attend the immigrant visa program which is organized by dhaka us embassy???last week embassy send me the email about the program and said that if i join the program then i will provide my information.did you get the email???

Hello Hamid1234,

I'm good thank you :) How have you been?

Nope, I didn't attend the visa programme that was organised in Dhaka today. Yeah, I did receive an email around last week inviting about this too!

I also received another e-mail in the beginning of October on the same thing but it was happening in Comilla. But did not attend either of those. I mainly didn't as they said it will be only a general discussion and we can't really ask case specific issues, I feel that online information is better for the time being. Plus they said only one person can attend, so if I can't really go on my own lol but we have this great place which has tonnes of really good advice so I think for those who are not aware of Visa journey website, it will be good for them to attend it.

Hey!

Got back home about an hour ago. I went with my brother to celebrate.

I'm very happy to let you know that I have been approved.

I'll also leave a detailed review for other members.

My interview was scheduled for 10:15 am. I've arrived at the Embassy 8:45. They won't let you in up to 30 minutes before the interview. I was aware of this so we went to a coffee shop nearby. Chilled there and had a chocolate Frappe lol.

At 09:50 am we reached the Embassy. The security let me in after checking the interview letter. A handbag is allowed for us ladies. And they check everything twice. So do not take any electronics with you.

Once in we first hand the interview letter to this dude at the first reception point he will keep the first page and return the rest. He also provided a page to create this online profile where you select where you'd like your passport to be collected.

You then sit and wait. My name was first called at around 11:10 (only cause I was one of the final few to enter the Embassy for that time slot)

I went to the window and was asked to provide all the original documents.

1. Marriage nikkah nama Bengali and English

2. Birth certificate/translations

3. Police clearances

4. And the original unexpired passport

I was also returned at this time;

1. Some of the stuff we've submitted at the NVC that they seemingly didn't need?

2. Medical envelope that was unsealed. It contains the CD for chest xray and the vaccine page.

I then went back to waiting and maybe in about 2 minutes I was called at another window where it was an American lady who was really friendly and collected the biometrics and made me take an oath to speak the truth.

She then asked me to sit again and I was finally called after 10 minutes and it was my CO, he was also a white American. Here's the conversation. It only. Lasted a few minutes.

Co: hi, how are you?

Me: hey, I'm good thank you.

Co: who's petitioning for you?

Me: my husband

Co: so, he stays in Boston, who else does he stay with?

Me: his family, parents, sister etc

Co: what does he do for a living?

Me: answered

Co: how long did you know him for?

Me: answered

Co:where did you get married

Me: answered venue and location

Co: can I have a look at the wedding pictures?

Me: provided wedding pics (spouse visa I urge you all to take wedding pics, they have asked this to literally all other applicants)

Co: after your marriage, did he come to see you?

Me:yes

Co:when

Me: may to june

Co: Oh so this year then

Me:yup!

Co: okay, I've approved your visa and we'll be keeping your passport.

Me: Oh that's brilliant, thank you :D

Co: you have a nice day now

And then I've left. Few minutes checked my ceac status and it's now from ready to "issued".

Hope this helps! Best of luck with your interview, if you do have any concerns, do not hesitate to ask. :D

Aww don't be, make eye contact and keep your answer very short. I have seen many male applicants getting approved and were asked same questions as me. Another common questions I've heard was them asking if it was a love or arranged marriage. Either way it was fine for them. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Btw myprincess many thanks :D
