*** Country-specific thread is moved from the Embassy/Consulate forum to the Asia/South regional subforum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi,

I have been looking around and have noticed myself that for Bangladesh once the interview is over we hardly hear back from our VJers and end up not having any recent reviews at all. Would really appreciate if someone shed a light on the matter.

Thanks a lot in advance folks!

Hi yes, I have completed my medicals already, maybe about a week ago. I did this in Green Crescent Medical, that's in Baridhara.

I'm female and the principal applicant. But for doing medicals you will need your interview letter, without that they won't accept it. I just printed the e-mail interview letter and took 5 (2x2") passport recent pictures. Address, email address, tel number of my petitioner (my husband), and for medical exam the cost is 6000 taka plus 1000 taka for Vaccination. Before this was 3590, major increase in price since October.

They don't give you the result but you can call them the next day with your receipt number and they'll confirm if everything is okay or not.

As for organising papers, I have the original Birth certificate, original passport (more than 8 months expiry), original recent police certificate, original marriage certificate with Nikkah nama in bengali and English.

And now I am getting the picture evidence ready, like marriage photos etc, On your interview letter they will give you a specific list of exactly what documents you will need to prepare. If you didn't get the letter, call NVC and ask them to e-mail it to you. Not sure if it's different for your visa type.

Hope that helps :D

In that case, we will have similar interviews. Don't worry at all, it's completely understandable to be nervous, but if you and your wife have good evidence of a genuine relationship then there isn't much to worry about, although. Do you still know what date is your interview? Did your wife hire a lawyer for this?

For genuine relationships evidence, I'll be showing all the pictures of me with my husbands family, where we travelled and the guest dawat pictures lol which has pictures of everyone like my parents and his parents having a good time, me and my husband in Cox Bazar etc and when he re-visited me pictures of that too, including family photos. And most obviously wedding photos.

Hey that's excellent thanks so much. Now it's best to just prepare the rest of your documents according to the interview letter. My interview is before yours, so hopefully God willing and I pray that everything goes well on that day, I shall leave a detailed recollection on my experience at the interview. Good luck to you too! :)
