OMG I want to strangle the lawyers office I'm dealing with.

How many times do I need to tell them that all medical and all school records are in Canada!?!?!? I even called them in the spring to double check once again if they need me to get anything from Canada.

THey tell me they don't need anything more.

I get a letter from SSI that a court date is set and the lawyer send me a letter with a different date then the SSI letter. On top of the different names they send me someone else name and ssn on all the forms.

I call them and looks like the SSI changed the dates but then the person tells me to go ahead and rip up those forms and wait for SSI to mail me new ones.

Ok I do that then get a call from someone else.

Now not only is this person trying to figure out what is going on she is totally thrown off when I told her once again that all the consent for medical release forms do no good as daughter was born in Canada. I tell her I have no idea what papers they got because no one tells me anything. (I have power of attorney over daughter) they keep saying will let you know if there is anything we need.

So now that they finally understand I need to know what papers they got fro the schools here so I can get anything extra from Canada. Plus I informed her that Doctors records are gone our old Pedi retired and you only have some much time to get your records before they are gone. I didn't even know he retired so no records. (It doesn't matter since In Canada pedi's don't really have anything to do with disabilities so he didn't have anything).

So now they are really freaking out.

I guess I'll call the School board and other agencies and hope I can track down any extra records.

So now the second girl needs to talk to the front office and will call me back on monday. I guess I should double check on the court date too

Probably none of you know and my googling has failed, but before we take possession of the rental car next week that is being paid for by the at fault driver's insurance, who is insuring it for damages? Is it our insurance? 'Cuz there have a been a ton of accidents around there lately and I don't want to be out $2000 because someone slammed into the back of the rental car.

Yes still dealing with them, by the time we go to court it will be over 2 years. Its hard to prove her disability to them because they don't have a learning disability section.

They can't seem to get it through their head that someone who can't do basic math, can't follow directions, someone that reads and comprehends at about a grade 3 level is not going to be able to hold a job down.

Hmm good question about the rental car. I guess ask the rental place that question.

I would think it would be theirs, BUT it possibly could be up to you guys. I agree that's a conversation to have with the rental company. Have it with the manager, get it in writing. I've been told by rental companies "oh it'll be this much including taxes etc" and when I go to pay it's 3x that amount with no recourse for "we are big fat liars."

In writing, like a contract, every time. Even if not legally enforceable it gives me a sheet of paper to wave in someone's face when I'm pissed off and am being the squeaky wheel.

The rental company has its own insurance for the car. Your own comprehensive will cover the rest. You can go one further step by calling your insurance company (not the other party's insurance) to see what is covered on the rental, and what's your deductible on it.

You can also buy the supplemental insurance through the rental company, and try to have the other guy's insurance pay for that too. But check with your own insurance company first.

Clean except that one has an Elevated Credit Risk, probably not unusual man.
