Can't you rent a car or something?

We have two cars, so we can trade on days when I have appointments. The Subaru is still technically drivable, just damaged. A car rental would be expensive and risky this time of year with the snow, ice, etc. Plus, rentals don't have engine block heaters. They've revised our weather forecast to quite a few days with highs below 0 F coming up and a car without an engine block heater is unlikely to start in those conditions.

A lot of people do, but sometimes the winters here are just too cold for snow so you don't even get to use them. They are also pretty pricey. A certain percentage of the people in this area are employed manufacturing them as well.

They were buzzing by my window all day. Always weird when you are laying in bed, hear a loud sound outside then an idling engine and people talking - they stop and chat before crossing the intersection.
