Brought Pre-Owned Toilet Seat receipts to bank this morn, red-carpet treatment man.

I'm debating on buying half of a hog from one of the local farms but we'd need to buy a stand alone freezer for that and meat from hunting. Do any of you have a separate freezer? The energy guides make it look like it will cost more than it saves...

I've always had a freezer. Get a chest freezer if you can, you can fit so much more in them then the upright type.

I left my freezer in Canada and the Hillbilly got an upright. I curse this sucker nonstop.

You can fit way more food in the chest freezers and they have baskets for them.

I had 2 baskets that you could move along the top to get to stuff underneath. One divider spot that I would put bread in it was above the motor so not as deep as the rest of the freezer but separated from the other stuff so no squishy bread.

I could easily put 300 lbs of meat in there and still plenty of room. This upright one says it's similar size but no way could I get that much food in it. All the shelves in it take up room and then you have to stack things and can't move shelves around.

If you're wanting that much meat chest is the way to go. They aren't bad on energy when full if you get low on meat put boxes in it,
