Son is about 3 hours away now. He was like 10 minutes and still did this. 

He's trying to hard to fit in her circle. 

 

 

Stretch has gotten lazy no more wood cutting or snow shoveling. Speaking of snow my old town is the nations capital on snow 158 inched just a bit more then Marquette MI,  and their winter is no where near ending.

I honestly can't figure out the level of upset that my husband's parents have over us not living closer.   He actually wouldn't mind if my mother lived next door (the house might be going up for sale).   That is too close. 

 

There can be too much snow, that is too much snow.

 

I think we've finally warmed up for the reminder of the year, so I'm happy now.

I don't expect daily calls or visits. But a message, txt or call at least once a month would be nice. You know like hey mom just saying HI I'm still alive sort of deal

Big story here at the moment is how many refugees are sneaking across the border to the north of us and in the process endangering themselves and losing fingers.  I can't share the video because it is on facebook, but apparently some of these "refugees" had no idea that frostbite or death was even a concern.

Too lazy to look back upstream in the thread but I seem to recall you said your son was in his 20's. Having been a son in his 20's many decades ago, I can attest that this special breed of ** sapiens is simply the worst, especially to mothers. I lived 3,000 miles from my parents thru much of my 20's and called home maybe twice a year. I remember I called once and chatted amiably with both of my parents for about an hour. When I got ready to end the call my mother asked, "Aren't you going to wish your father a happy birthday?" My response was, "Oh, it's Dad's birthday?"

 

Lucky for you, they grow out of it.
