Next, why is the regi for the Yukon like 1 hunnit and 90 bucks for 2 years? This is outrageous!

I wish the registration for one of our vehicles was that cheap.  The truck was like 300 for a year.  Colorado is STUPID expensive for vehicle registration.  Is it any wonder that people purposely register vehicles in other states despite living here for years?

Exactly.  Our registration is basically a state tax on the cars.  It is some percent of the blue book value (or whatever the equivalent is).  This past year, the subaru was 238 and the old truck 144.  At least we don't have to have the cars inspected here, though.

In Connecticut, I believe you pay local tax on the cars, which was about that if not more, and then a state registration fee.

I pay 8.875 on car sales tax. But I lease, only the capitalized cost is taxed. (The portion of the car that you're gonna use over the next few years)

Dang it. The pup is now marking inside the house, right in front of us. Time to get medieval on his reproductive organs. Of course, we'll go to the vet to get it done - I don't mean "medieval" in that way.

Taxes done. I swear, the various online tax return services are worthless. This is the 3rd straight year I've tried to use one, but in the end couldn't e-file with it because of some limitation. This year it was form 5329. Tried to use TaxAct, for the 2nd time (tried H&R Block in 2014) and it's like the program leads you right up to the point where they infer - "Hey buddy, you need to file the 5329 for this", and then they just leave you hanging with no provision to file the form nor even a polite - "we're sorry, you can't file a legitimate return with our service."

The freefillableforms.com provided by the IRS seems rather bullet proof over the last 2 years. They don't give any advice or guidance but at least they'll allow you to file any form under the sun. I'll use the $15 saved on a couple of pints at a tavern down the street.

Song that we remember from youth, hear man:

Oh, we put our foot in the ground-gopher's hole;

the ground-gopher said, "Lord bless my soul!

Take it out!  Take it out!  Remove it!  Remove it!"

So we took our foot from the ground-gopher's hole;

the ground-gopher said, "Lord bless my soul!

Put it back!  Put it back!  Replace it!"
