If they have the above, we wonder whether we should ask them to sign a statement assuring us that Feb. rent will be paid on Feb. 1, in full, in certified funds or cash money, huh man.

I feel like having to produce all this money up front is a huge burden for working families, but then again, it is a big risk for you not to require it.

If they sign the lease or rental contract aren't they doing that already Tbone?  Or are you asking them to provide cash, certified check, or money order only as payment?  People do not do enough direct banking here.  I always paid my rent via direct payment with the bank.  It came out on time, every time.   But in Canada you can also email people money from main banking institutions and here you have to wire transfer everything.  But you can deposit a check via mobile phone.  weird.....

Gaaaahh, I am so sick of having to clean my glasses all the time.  I've finally started wearing them whenever I am reading something because the tension headaches were out of control, but it is such a pita.

There have been options for a long time, but people have always been hesitant about it.

 

I wonder if some of that hesitation is because people used to (myself included when I was a broke teen) write checks before they got paid assuming money would be there later.  Check clearing is ridiculously fast now if the other person deposits it immediately and big retailers just use e-checks, so I'm not sure I really get people who use checks at stores, etc.  I can't believe how many people my age do this around here.  They are missing out on some good credit card rewards, but whatever, their loss.

 

For myself, I hate bank transfers, like really hate.  I only do them with my credit cards to make sure that the balance gets paid in full and I don't get charged interest.  Everything else I prefer to write checks or auto-pay with my credit card for the points.  There is something cathartic about sitting down and writing out a check to pay a bill.

Speaking of annoying things, I know my grandfather has left me something in his will.  I have no idea what it is and my chicken father couldn't even contact me himself to get my address.   I don't feel like using the person who did as some sort of go between.   Do beneficiaries and interested parties of an estate in the UK not have to be officially notified with a copy of the will?  I doubt it is anything of value enough to get a solicitor, but I can't figure out the proper process from their website, it is overly simplistic.

1.  Technically yes, Niki-B. ma'am, but we don't want to evict them after 2 weeks in the r-casa, egad man.

2.  This would be the idea for February at least, si ma'am.

 

However, see man:  Mrs. T-B. texted the rentress today to ask when we should caucus on Thursday-the-payment-deadline, she-to-she ma'am.  Rentress delayed answering for several hours and then wrote, "I'll have to see what my husband decides," weird choice of words man.

 

We give "plummeting" odds of the deal's coming through, sigh man.

However, if they don't have the money now, what does that bode for the future, huh man?
