Hi all,

I was able to submit the ds261 online today, but where do I pay AOS fee? All I see are the IV fee which is locked.

wait for a couple of days for the AOS fee to unlock. After you pay it, it will take about 2-3 days for it to be processed. The IV fee should unlock about 1 week after the AOS fee. Good luck!

Hello All,

Just to update on my case, I have paid all my fees to NVC, completed the DS 260 and DS 261. Sent off my packet to NVC yesterday and it should arrive tomorrow.

For those that have sent out their packets, have you heard anything? Do we know what the actual average time is for NVC to review and approve the packet? I have also read that once they assign an interview date, it is usually about a month out, is this true?

2 days after receipt to scan documents..then assume 11 week wait for finishing your case.  assuming there are no errors. some people are starting to say nvc is now at an 8-9 week wait.  but dont count on that.  then yes 1-2 months for interview.

Does anyone know if electronic processing of documents for NVC is faster than regular mail? My lawyer keeps acting like they don't know what I am talking about in regards to email processing but I feel that they are too lazy to want to do it thats why.. Even though I have wasted so much money in this lawyer I am willing to say forget you guys and do the electronic processing myself... What do you guys suggest? Please and thank you..

By the way our consulate is GTM Guatemala so it is one of the ones legible for Electronic Processing.

From what I've read, electronic processing is indeed faster than mail processing, it could take less than a month for you to get your case complete! Check out the nvc electronic processing threads, you'll see the difference.

My advice is that you wait for your NVC welcome letter. The letter will probably say that your case is eligible for electronic processing, so show that to your lawyer. Email all the documents yourself if you have to.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for your feedback and advice I really appreciate it! If it comes down to it I defintely will email all the docs myself if I have to!

Do you have any idea when I should expect the welcome letter? The NVCconfirmed they recieved my case yesterday.

You are very welcome!

NVC received our case on 04/20 and we received our welcome letter on 04/26, so it takes about a week. Be on the lookout for that e-mail, your lawyer should receive a copy as well! Good luck!

I'm confused. When I check VJ statistics CR1, for the Netherlands I get average 196 days to Embassy appointment. NVC says they take 11 weeks to process! Is it because to few CR1 cases reported to VJ and maybe combined with still running old cases to appointment? Though all other countries show these long terms too there. Wouldn't VJ better eliminate for over, say 22 weeks?

We are waiting for I-260 to come available. Florence paid fees.

And... Can anyone here tell us what the better option is? 1. Waiting till I-260 completed before sending in NVC package. 2. Sending in NVC package as soon as ready anyway? Our point of view is option 1. Because the other one gets to hold NVC system waiting. Another threat that may delay the process. What's your opinion?
