They didn't say anything. The operator was super helpful. I asked if it was the FBI Name Check that was processing, but his computer screen wouldn't show him what type of background check was being worked on. He did say that the background check was the second to last step. Next step is for the file to go to an officer for review. I guess that at this point our files haven't even been seen by another human...

I was told the other way around. .. I was told my case is with an operator in first week of april and then it went to background check.Confused now!!

I'm not sure the operators know the process at USCIS. I think they are only guessing at the process based on what they see on their computer screens. My operator said it didn't look like it had been seen by a reviewer yet. But, he can only see what is on the computer screen, so who knows.

I was told from Senator's office. They forwarded the message which they got from USCIS. Yes, nobody knows what's happening for real. Trying hard not to think about it further. Lets hope for the best!!

Hello October filers, has anyone been approved from California Service Center? I see a lots getting approved from Nebraska but not sure about CSC. My PD is Nov 3 and I was wondering if people from CSC was transferred to another center or they were approved at CSC itself. It's almost 6 months and I see no change in my status online and I'm honestly getting super anxious and impatient. :( The wait is absolutely killer. I guess I will call them once I hit 6 months on May 3rd. Good luck to all those who got approved by now!

More updates ---

NOA2: 4/10/2017

Sent to NVC: 4/18/2017

Case Received/Case Number Assigned: 4/26/2017

Welcome Email/Letter Received: 4/28/2017

AOS and IV Fees Invoiced: 4/28/2017

AOS and IV Fees Paid: 4/29/2017

Looks like having a lawyer changes things slightly. We didn't have to fill out DS-261 and both the AOS and IV fees were invoiced simultaneously.

I received my hard copy approval letter on April 21 and the letter says the notice date was April 14. So I was expecting for my petition to be delivered to NVC by end of this month but 3 days ago, my USCIS app notified my case was sent to NVC on April 26. I thought the petition is sent to NVC as soon as it is approved since the very first statement in the letter starts "your case is approved and we HAVE SENT your petition to NVC." Well, I assume there's still waiting time for it to be sent to NVC. That is ridiculous.

On top of that, I'd like to ask for an advice from you guys.

In NVC process, spouse needs to prove his/her financial situation. It seems that people submit 3 years of tax transcript from IRS and spouse's income needs to meet poverty line. My husband met the requirement for 2016 but not 2015 and 2014. Will it be safe to have a joint sponsor for those two years? NVC official guide states "very recent tax transcript should be submitted." So I was going to submit only 2016 tax transcript but everybody is doing 3 years tax transcript AND I read a case that was requested to bring more previous tax transcript to the interview.

What would you guys do if you are in my shoes?

Thank you for your advice.

Yeah, I'm trying to take this as mind-training lesson but it just makes me more impatient and annoyed haha I added some comment by the way. Do you have any idea about that?

it takes 7-10 days to "prepare the file" for nvc and and additional 7 days for nvc to receive it into their system.  then another 7 days for u to be able to pay the fees online and begin the ds-261.. so 3-4 weeks total before u can do anything.  does this answer your question?

My questions was ...

But I also wanna ask you another question..

From which date should I count the very first 7-10 days?

1. From the date of "notice date" (written on the approval letter)

2. From the date you actually received the hard copy letter.

3. From the date your case status turned to "we sent your petition to NVC" according to USCIS app.

I see.. Thank you a lot for your opinion about the tax. It's just that everybody seems to file 3 years tax transcripts so I was thinking it is right to follow the main stream.

About NVC on the other hand, my case was approved on April 14 (as written in the letter) but 2 weeks have passed and the agent said NVC hasn't received my petition yet. I never heard about this late arrival case before so I am a little bit worried. Maybe I should call USCIS to make sure when they sent out my petition..
