I can't tell you if they'll actually call you back past 8 PM; however, I would recommend that if your goal is to try and reach a Tier 2 representative call the very first thing at 8 AM (whatever timezone you happen to be in) and asked to be patched through to a Tier 2 representative. For the two times I tried calling a Tier 2 representative it took me 75 minutes and 125 minutes, both times.

Thank you for the speedy response, agripa. I do appreciate it.

Congrats, msett! That is great. I have a question. Did the immigration officer call you out of the blue or had you been on the phone with them?

Best of luck in the rest of it!

Thank you! I called customer service and requested to talk to a tier 2 since we had been in process for awhile.

Did you have to do the call back service when asking to speak with Tier 2?

I called twice to speak to a tier 2 and they had me wait. They do call back but the first time the call couldn't be connected. Had to call back and wait over an hour the second time. Finally spoke to tier 2 and they wouldn't give me any information because my case was in October and they are on PD of August 30. I tried calling again today on my drive home. To be told nothing again and to file a claim but my file is not within the time frame they are processing. I honestly give up on calling. I will just look in the mail and email because I get so upset every time. 😕

I have never called.  but I did send an inquiry online.  they said I will give a response by may 8th.  I don't think it does any good to call the govt for anything, USCIS, irs, social security, child support, etc.. so I have never tried lol.

Guys! my husband received a mail from USCIS today and we are approved!!!!

For a brief information,

I sent my I-130 on October 27, 2016.

I received the first notification from USCIS on November 3, 2016.

I was informed that my case was transferred to Texas service center on March 23, 2017.

My husband received hard copy mail from USCIS on April 21, 2017 (TODAY!)

AND the letter says....

Priority Date : October 31, 2016

Receipt Date : November 1, 2016

Notice Date : April 14, 2017

Notice was sent out on April 18, 2017.

The point is that it looks like people who got transferred seemed to be dealt faster.

AND no update was shown anywhere on USCIS my case status page, the USCIS app that my case was approved and even my Visajoureny estimated period was in the third week of May.

So, it was a very big surprise and this information may be helpful for people who files their case late October/ received by USCIS first week of November.

I wish you all good luck and I hope we can still share idea about further process even after we all get approved.

Thank you so much for those who shared information. You made me stand where I am now. Thank you.

Thank you so much!
You gave me so much hope!

I was looking at your timeline and we have so much in common!! We both got married the same date! I got married September 17th, 2016. I am currently in Toronto and my husband is in Texas. We sent our I-130 on October 31, 2016 and received NOA1 on November 2nd 2016. On March 23rd, 2017 our I-130 was transferred to Texas Service Center. I really hope we hear back soon, like you!! Congratulations!

Our VJ timeline was spot on- to the day. We had a lawyer and we submitted no additional materials other than what was required. I should also mention that my husband, the Spaniard, previously had a J1 visa to the USA so we included a photo copy of that.

Best of luck to everyone else. It will come when you least expect it. I got my notifications via text at 7:47am on a Saturday. I was SO happy.

What a coincidence! Married on the same date and applied for I-130 on a similar date.. we seem to have a lot in common. I was expecting to get an approval in the second week of May but it arrived sooner than I expected. I am sure your turn is right around the corner and hope I can see you at Montreal consulate around at the end of this year. Cheers.

Okay 10/13 filers...my app shows that 10 of us have been approved and one got an RFE. So I am hoping that this means the rest of us will get our approvals by Monday or at LEAST next week!!!

I see this process as something equivalent to being trapped in an elevator together for hours...it is a thing that only those who go through it can understand. My thoughts and emotions are with you ALL!

One other thing....a few of you answered me about USCIS giving me a call back....well they did, at 10:20pm!!! I stayed on hold with them for 2 hours, you guys. I finally hung up because I had to wake up at 6 am. So I don't see myself ever trying that again. It was do disappointing. I was terrified to hang up, but 2 hours, at that time of the night, was just too much.

My husbandis worried that they will write a note about me hanging up. I am pretty sure they won't and even if they do, i highly doubt it can cause us any issue.

Good luck to everyone!
