Seems like lot of applications that went to Texas from end of October cases are getting approved and Nebraska still working on Oct 5th-7th. People that are in middle of month are somewhat screwed by this system.

Unfortunately it is the ones who were transferred to Texas at the beginning of February who have been approved. Nebraska received our case on 9/30 and we were transferred to Texas on 2/22 to 'speed up processing' and no news yet. So if Nebraska is now working on Oct 5th-7th and our case would have stayed there we might have been approved by now. Believe me, the transfer to Texas did not make our process go any faster and we are beyond the six months. Our lawyer said the timeline for a I-130 approval is 6-8 months and he prefers to wait another 4 weeks before proceeding with an inquiry.

So, all we can do is wait.

agreed.  mine is October 12th..no transfer, no status change..  beyond frustrated

Thought I'll check here how far Nebraska is and this is frustrating me even more. Our PD is 11/28 😐. How many people are working at Nebraska? Five? Don't get why they raised prices...Seems like they didn't hire more ppl.

It's frustrating indeed.. other service centers are way ahead.. I don't know what's wrong with Nebraska....  really sucks

I completely agree...you would think the hike in prices wpuld have brought about some speed. Apparently not. Nebraska is the stereotypical example of a government office...slow and underproductive. Grrrr!!!!

Oh my God! I just got approved!!!! Soo elated and over the moon, my wife and I were just screaming at each other over the phone.

My PD was October 4, 2016. I was at Nebraska the entire time, no transfers or anything. I was approved on April 10, 2017 and received the hardcopy yesterday April 14, 2017. There was no notification online (in fact my status still hasn't changed).

Never fear guys, approvals are are on the way for everyone!

Congrats.

It is good to see Octobers are getting approved. But it doesn't seem like all Septembers are out of the way yet isn't it? Just as someone else said, it seems to be a game of luck at this point.

Wonder why people have to suffer the pain of being away from their loved ones for long; too long as a matter of fact.

Even worse there are still June, July, and August I-130 fliers that still have yet to be approved. The process is deeply unfair. Although people here on VisaJourney don't really want to admit it, what country your spouse is coming from makes a huge difference. Clearly people in Western European countries and the Phillippines are approved faster. Some petitions are definitely given more scrutiny than others (for reasons we don't understand and for reasons I suspect that aren't even rational). This a fact; a deeply unfair and unpopular fact, but a fact nonetheless. I wish everyone a speedy approval!

Agripa, you are 100% correct. People got offended by me saying this earlier, but it is true. The country of origin of the spouse and the origin of their parents has so much to do with how long the process will take.

I find it hard to empathize with people whose spouses are from certain countries when they complain that they haven't seen their spouse/fiance in 2 months. I do, at the end of the day, cool down and feel for them. At the end of being two months apart, it was really painful. But now we are going on 7, and that pain only grows deeper and less easy to cope with.

What I feel everyone needs in this day and age is gratitude for the blessings they have.

I'm very happy for you, Agripa. Thanks for standing up to voice the truth, and thanks for your well-wishes.

hello all

Its been 6.5 months since my PD and my case is still stuck at Nebraska. I have a couple of questions regarding filing tax return which is due tomorrow. I have seen that there are two options 1) married filing separately or 2) married filing jointly. It seems filing jointly is more beneficial in order to get maximum returns. But how complex is the overall process? Do beneficiary  need an 'Individual tax identification number' (ITIN) for both options or is it just when filing jointly? What are the pros and cons with these 2 options in terms of NVC processing ? It would be great if somebody can give me an insight
