Hi All,

I just got the last pieces of my packet together. I was waiting for her new passport photos, and they came in yesterday. That completes everything. Now I just need to wait for payday to drop that big $340. As soon as I send it in, I will start the VJ Timeline. We are both very excited to get things rolling. I am really praying that she can come here in Feb or March, but of course, the gubmit will take as long as they take. She has a friend who went thru this, and they were approved in just under 3 months. That caused them a problem because he didn't have the money yet for her ticket. Now her 90 days are just about to run out. I have a friend who went thru this, but hers took nearly a year because she has a daughter and had to track down her drug-addict husband and get an annulment. Either way, 5 months would suit me perfectly. Fingers crossed!

Just a side note. Your friend's fiancee has 6 months in which to be on US soil. Clock normally starts from medical date but I recommend they check the visa in the passport. Also, they have 90 days to marry and that clock starts ticking once she lands at her POE.

Start checking documents for correctness. Many wait till the interview and find out then it's too late causing a delay in final approval.

I have gone over them again and again and again since I returned a couple of weeks ago. I am totally crazy about the details.

On a funny side note, Monday 03 Oct I got the e-mail that I was voted September Employee of the Month. That is hilarious, seeing as I was gone for more than half of September. Did noone even notice that I was gone?

.. maybe they think you do better on vacation! devil made me say it

More serious note. The documents to be checking over (besides the I-129F and such) is your fiancee's birth certificate from PSA and the CENOMAR, get copies now verify names and spelling.

I thought she didn't need her birth cert until her interview packet at the embassy. Do I need all of that now to turn in with the I-129F? What is CENOMAR?

I suddenly have a very sick feeling. What have I missed?

True the BC isn't needed until the embassy, but it is wise to make sure the name you are using for completing the I-129F matches her BC/passport. CENOMAR is a CErtificate of NO MARriage, also not required until the embassy. BUT! What Greenbaum was suggesting is to review these documents EARLY to avoid issues later. Just a suggestion.

What are you missing?

Do you have a G-325A from each of you? Letters of Intent to Marry from each of you? ++

I have everything that was listed on the VJ forms site. I had her sign everything that she needed to sign while I was there. I have all of the pictures and printouts of our first chats and several Skype screenshots with dates to show relationship. I have all of my plane tickets, hotel receipts, and itinerary printouts. I purposely took pix in front of PI landmarks so there could be no doubt of where we were. I took pix of us with her entire family to show family support. I took pix of her showing off her engagement ring.

There is one thing I now wonder about. I enclosed a copy of my divorce papers. However, when I was fresh out of high school, I married my high school sweetheart. That did not last long and we were divorced many many moons ago. Do I need a copy of those divorce papers as well? That was a very long time ago and I was married and then divorced for quite some time after that. I do not have copies of them.

4-8 pictures are good for secondary evidence.

.. chats and screenshots only need at the embassy.

You need copies of ALL divorces, doesn't matter how many years ago. You will need to get copies of that divorce decree.

I live right by the court house. Green Cove Springs is a small town. I called the lady in the clerk's office and she dug it up and is sending it right over. No fuss, no muss. That and the $340 is all that I lack for the packet. I cannot wait to start my timeline.
