Ontario Birth Certificate online

I filed online for my Ontario long birth certificate, on November 7, 2006, with a fifteen day guarantee.

What they don't tell you, is you have to fill out just about everything besides the required fields. After 3 RFE type letters, sent back. One for my first name which was included in my address, one for my second name and the last one for my parents place of birth. Innumerable phone calls to which I was bumped, A letter to the Registrar General, which caused another delay as it was reviewed again, a representative that said he'd look into it after a TWO hour hold. NOTHING.

I finally got a representative on the line, (another 2 hour hold) I told her my situation; all the above, and that I now was close to an interview. She gave me a fax number, a name and told me to lie and tell them I had an appt for April 5th (I just put in April, lol, I don't have one). She told me to use her name and just fax what I had. All I faxed was the NOA2 approval email. I also faxed my birth certificate with the REGISTRATION NUMBER, idiots, and a copy of my passport. 3 days later my online status shows it has been sent. I'm still waiting on it, but at least it's left.

Concerning the online application. The representative told me that it hasn't been updated with the new required fields. That's what part of the hold up was. BEWARE IF YOU APPLY ONLINE, FILL IN AS MANY FIELDS AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN!!

Sorry to hear you are having such a problem! We applied online for my husbands long form (Ontario) on March 16th and it was delivered yesterday... My husband left alot of things blank especially about his father.. all we put for him was his name...so we too were expecting a delay..

Yikes! I filled mine out and I had no problem getting it within 15 days. Some things I left blank, like the number of the street my parents lived on at the time, and might have been wrong about the street name, but my mother remembered the doctor's name, etc.

What I'm worried about is how drunk my dad was at the time he filled it out, because he screwed up all over it. I hope that won't be a problem.

My mom filled out my long form and it had a lot of things crossed out with corrections on it. LOL!

They need a lot of info to make sure they match it correctly. If you have a name like Jane Smith, there might be tons born the same day in the same city.

Well I got it!

Certified photostat is what they call it, just a copy of the original my mother filled out with a number and a stamp!

I can't believe with everything I did fill out they couldn't just pull it up

I know I put in my middle name, the rep even told me, put Gredal on the form, hmmm and I know I put my parents birthdays cause I called my mom for the exact info for everything, Dr's exact name and address, EVERYTHING, ughhhhhhhhhhhh
