Now that everyone has had a successful interview they've disappeared? ;)

We're working on planning for the AOS. I have to get all of our paperwork together so that once we're married we can send the documents out immediately.

What are you all doing?

Eliton is adapting sooo well!! I can't believe it.

He barely knows English but he does everything anyway - we even went to the movies last night - his suggestion. My friends love him becaues he's very sweet and outgoing. He does his best with English and surprises me by what he has learned so far. He answers my cell phone, dealt with the cable guy while I was away, etc.

His English classes haven't even begun yet!

He watches TV (I put on closed captioning) and you'd think he understood everything. He likes American food, the cars....and so on.

For someone who never even though of visiting the U.S. before he met me - he's doing great.

That is awesome!!!

And he's been here for less than a month, right?

I think I am the exact opposite. My English is getting worse after I got to the states. And ESL classes are nonexistent here in MN. And when they do exist (in April) they are REALLY expensive...

He's been here 9 days!

It's hard for me to find ESOL classes near my home - so he'll only be studying Tues/Thurs nights, but it's better than nothing. He is learning other ways, TV, my friends, daily life.

You'd think he'd been in the U.S. before - seeing how comfortable he is. This makes me really happy because he left everything behind to be here with me.

He has headaches - which he never had before - and I think they are a result of all of the English around him. That always happened to me when I moved to study in a new country.

What area of Minnesota are you having trouble finding ESL classes? There are tons of ESL classes here in Minneapolis....when my husband came from Peru in 2002, he availed himself of several really good ones. These courses prepared him to get admitted and attend graduate school at the UofMN.

That's great to hear he's adapting well :) I also got the worst headaches in the first months...i think the weather is part of it, always remind him to drink lots of water... I also seemed to always have a cold :( But oh well...it's all better now...good luck with AOS :)
