You liberals just want to bury your head in the sand while this great nation is destroyed by Octomoms!

YouTube videos are hardly a valid evidence.

Come back with actual statistics.

U.S. women have 1.88 child on average.

The fertility rate is the lowest ever since that stat has been tracked.

The octomom invasion is not here yet.

Or you meant octopus, but couldn't find a proof the octopus empire is threatening the U.S. :P

I don't need statistics to know that Octomoms are a real threat to the American way of life, wake up and smell the coffee! #Octomomsarereal

Yes, my husband keeps asking me this: why do Americans put up with this system?? Why? Anyone have any insights as to why it is tolerated/accepted?

I agree that Obamacare was better than nothing, but.....my mom told me that now her employers are offering overly expensive options (over $500/month and the plan is extremely mediocre) and basically people are forced to accept it because if they don't.....they are taxed. What on earth?? How is that fair?? Sigh. I get that there was a good intention with Obamacare but now it seems like people are just forced to pay into the system whether the like it or not.

when you're coming from a healthcare system where people are not obligated to pay in, how exactly do you provide coverage for the mass of uninsured (people who don't want to pay for something they don't think they'll need - until they need it of course) if not implementing a single payer plan? yes, people who do not have insurance but make enough money to pay a fee for their coverage under the national plan..they have to pay. are you saying that people that don't like paying for coverage shouldn't have to, simply because they don't like it?

What on earth?? How is that fair?? Sigh. I get that there was a good intention with Obamacare but now it seems like people are just forced to pay into the system whether the like it or not.

Like I said in the other health insurance thread. I used to be uninsured, not by choice, but because I simply could not afford it. I ended up very sick and was left with a large bill, but I paid back every cent. Eventually I got insurance, but since O'care began that premium has gone up and up. It's set to again rise nearly 30% very soon. When it reaches that point I don't know whether I and my husband can afford it anymore, which is kind of scary to me. The tiny pool of insurers within our state exchange is not viable to the point they constantly ask for approvals of vast increases, and are always given them to keep the thing afloat.

I will point out something though, about paying into the system whether they like it or not: we all pay into some sort of system that we may not like, may not use, or sometimes rarely will ever get to see where our money exactly goes. This happens every time you pay taxes. The penalty for not having insurance is running about the cost of two premiums right now, so it's far cheaper than paying for insurance. But I will still question the level of care these insurances are offering. Americans still cannot afford drug costs. The plan we were forced to buy still does not offer appropriate coverage. For seniors things aren't much better - there are numerous medications my dad can no longer afford and the 'donut hole' period (the gap where the tab is not picked up) is problematic.

By the way: as for being 'forced' to buy something you don't like... it's pretty much a given that in owning a home you need insurance. And you cannot drive a car unless you are insured. So there are always insurances that are 'forced' upon the populace.

Times like these, you miss some of our fallen comrades. They would have had some real insights into How Wimminz Work. (F)

I will explain it to you sometime

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.
