anyone that believes poor people/welfare recipient are draining the economy and taking what's rightfully yours..is uneducated and a victim of propaganda. the truth is out there, but stay pissed at households who earn way less than 20 grand a year. real productive. meanwhile, how much does that chick that's queen of the epi pens make?

I didn't say that they are taking away from me, I do ok. They are taking away from much better causes like education. I'm not asking to not pay taxes. I'm asking for my taxes to go to the causes and people that really need it. I didn't say that I was pissed at people who earn under 20k/year. I would never have any beef towards working people. My beef is people who abuse the system, those who are capable of working and supporting themselves but chose to not work and collect welfare. More kids=more welfare. It's really a great system that we have.

As for epi-pen chick, again, she's not doing anything illegal. It's a democracy and free market capitalism at its best. Nobody is forcing you to buy it. It's a democracy after all.

and as far as epi pen chick, healthcare as a basic human right aside - it's a moral issue - but there's no such thing as morals (or ethics) in free market capitalism.

Actually, the health care system in the US is hardly a "free market." It's actually a lot closer to the mafia.

Powerful, monopolistic pharma companies and hospitals negotiate the prices behind closed doors with their buddies the private insurance companies, where there is pretty much zero pricing transparency for the average consumer, who are forced to pay whatever price those guys determine is "fair" at the expense of their either dying or remaining ill/getting ill by avoiding the service they offer. The threat of "Hey, if you don't buy our product, you'll be sorry!" is basically what they hang over your head, with a bunch of smoke and mirror pricing with the help of insurance companies, to get you to pay whatever they say you must pay.

Free markets have competition and the pricing is actually regulated by supply and demand. That's not what's going on at all in America's health care system. In Russia, private doctors compete on the free market and you can get an MRI (without insurance) at the top private clinic here for $50.00...oh, and it'll be done in about one hour. With hardly any waiting. And diagnosis of any illness included in the price of the scan. In the US......yeah, don't even want to know how much that would cost without insurance.

While the US does excel at super specialized doctors who can cure obscure illnesses that in most countries would be untreatable, for the average person with a common health problem, the current system is kind of an extortionist nightmare.

yeah, i've been around. i know.

the past two elections, my vote was placed strictly on the issue of healthcare. i was hoping we would move beyond, onward upward, in 2016 - but apparently we're still hemming and hawing over if those that can't afford their 'preexisting' conditions should have access to health insurance that actually covers their health costs. every once and a while you hear someone talk about the excruciating cost of prescriptions - like insulin - even with insurance. not to mention how limiting insurance companies are to the insured's health (for example insurance companies that refuse to pay for insulin pumps, even though insulin pumps long term would cut down on overall insurance payouts and only add to the quality of life for their customers). but really, just like every thing else, if a particular injustice doesn't affect us personally, if it doesn't hit dangerously close to home, we don't have the attention span for it. it's much easier to think, hey makes sense that letting insurance companies dictate policies that cover literally nothing and to have these limited choices filtered through an individual's employer. free market murica weeeeeeee!

Most Americans don't actually understand how the insurance/health care system works. They just believe that "American is number one!!!!11 YEAH" which equates in their mind to expensive healthcare = the best in the world. It's pretty sad. I wasn't following politics for a while and when I found out that the Obamacare plan was just basically "affordable" plans via his system and a tax forcing people who don't chose one of the extremely limited options out there, it just seemed like this solution is a tiny band aid over a huge, hemorrhaging wound. :/

Nobody is forcing the US government to maintain her patents. Greed is not good, in the long run she has destroyed her shareholders equity.

Trump also expressed disbelief that Tyson could have committed the crime: "I don't know, after knowing Mike, I don't know how it did happen. But it was a jury. It was a jury verdict. And Mike Tyson will have to live with the jury verdict."

At that point, the press conference took a weird turn. Trump was asked, "If your sister was raped by a millionaire, would you encourage her to accept a big bundle of cash to forget everything?" He replied, "I think every individual situation is different." Trump then said he couldn't guarantee that Tyson wouldn't rape anybody else if he were allowed to avoid prison.

Trump's proposal was not well received. Holyfield's promoter called the plan "absolutely reprehensible." The prosecutor in the Tyson case, J. Gregory Garrison, was even more scathing. "These people seem to think they can buy their way out of anything," he told Newsday. "Well, I've never seen anyone buy his way out of jail in this state yet." Sports columnists and legal experts around the country pointed out that Trump would be able to continue his lucrative relationship with Tyson if the boxer avoided jail.

Trump's campaign spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment about this episode. A Tyson representative said the now-retired boxer was too busy to talk about it.
