sputum. how long does it take?

my brother just found out today that his xray is positive. they need him to do the 3day-sputum. my question is, how does the whole sputum-test work? how long does it take. is it really a MINIMUM of 2months to find out or could it be sooner than that. What if the initial test (of the sputum) is negative, is it mandatory for him to wait for the culture results? hes interview is on nov10,2016. he was told not to cancel it but as for the other ones(applicants with the same situation whose interview is in the next 2 weeks) around him that time were told to cancel theirs. whats the diffence? how come he doesnt need cancel his and the others have to. HELP, pls. thanks

If the initial 3 day test is negative, still have to wait 60 days for the culture test. If that is also negative then all is good.

At some point your brother will have to cancel his November appointment. Why he wasn't told I don't know.

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!

xray must be done at St. Luke's as part of the medical. You can do your medical at SLEC early if you choose.

Which is better not finding TB via an Xray and dying or finding TB and treating it and that saves your life?

My bet is having SLEC do the Xray with excellent equipment and finding nothing is what I'd like. Also, like Sagot said it's included in the fee.

Relax and let the process work. TB cured saves your life and allows you to receive a visa.
