Hello everybody,

I really need your help.

Brian and I got married this June and decided to concurrently for my adjustment of status.

I have been an F-1 Student for three years and my status is valid, I am attending school this semester and I am meeting all the requirements.

We mailed the package with the forms and all of the required documents that are required on 9-28-16.

It was received on the 9-30-16.

We didn't receive any confirmation via email or text and the checks didn't get cashed.

Instead we received a Form I-797C Notice of Action - Rejection Notice that states: The application/petition was filled on an outdated version of this form. Please resubmit your application/petition on the current version of this form with the appropriate fees to the address listed on the bottom of this page.

All of our documents are stapled together in random order and the binders and envelope we used to mail the petition are not returned.

Also, all of the documents have numbers printed on the bottom page.

In addition, the other forms (I-485, I-765, G-1145) are signed and have a long line on them.

Lastly the checks have a stamped U.S. Department of Homeland Security Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Needless to say this is very upsetting.

We downloaded the form on the USCIS website, and after checking it again today the form on the right top corner states that it expires on 12-31-2015.

I have two questions, the first is time sensitive, can we mail all of the documents back as they are or do we have to print them again?

And is form I-130 up-to-date even if it states it expires 12-31-2015?

Form expiration dates do not matter > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/601263-form-expiration-dates-do-not-matter-pay-attention-to-the-edition-dates/

All the forms downloaded from the USCIS would be the current versions.

Hello KayDeeCee,

Thank you for your prompt response.

Yes, I understand that the forms are up-to-date on the website.

The question is: can we send back all the other forms and documents or do we have to reprint and fill out the forms anew?

You can send the forms back as they are. What money amounts did you send?

The form I see on uscis.gov says it expires in 2017. Edition date current, 10/5/15.

ROC:

2/06/13: APPROVED!

Oh, sorry, I was looking at the I-485.

The I-130 page says previous editions accepted. Who did you make the check out to?

And they were going to throw the binder away anyway so that was a waste. They put the forms in their own files the way they do it - uniformly.

Hi Harpa,

Thank you again for your response and help.

The checks were written out the USCIS. Today I received an Acceptance confirmation and the checks were cashed by USCIS.

Waiting for the next step now.

Hello Harry, I am in the same situation as you and i am so very confused right now. They sent everything back saying the form was outdated. Which form did you send back? Did you fill out a new one? How can the form be outdated if that's the latest one on the website. Please a quick response would be really appreciated. Thanks.

Hell CapT,

It is unfortunate that the documents, on both of our cases, were returned.

I am not sure what was the issue on my case, what I could observe, by looking closely on the I-130 we mailed initially was that the correct form (when viewed digitally) includes a barcode. Once that form was printed the barcode was cut off. I would recommend you check the bottom, and the top of the page of the forms, when you print them out. That's how we followed up: reprinted the form, made sure that non of the page was cut off and mailed the package back.

I hope my response is helpful.

Best luck to you!

I resent my package as well. Package was delivered on May 3rd, check was cashed on May 10th and I received NOA1 on May 14th.

Did you put the green paper on top of your paperwork?

That's what I was worried about too. :( Keep us updated! If they sent it back you should receive it back soon but let's hope that it won't happen.

I had the same issue. I got the rejection notice becuase of using the outdated form. My questions are:

1) I will fill out the new form BUT can I resend the old supporting documents (which does have some number written on every page by USCIS)?

2) OR should I reprint all the supporting documents?

3) My major concern is I 693 form. I sent it in closed envelope but I received it back open with numbers at bottom on each page? Can I resend it again with my new application or do I need to ask for another closed envelope I-693 form from doctor?

Thanks in Advance.
