Greetings to you all,

I am asking for advice from Ugandan couples who have already been approved for their CR-1 Visa.

Should I overload my I-130 package?

We have been together for 1 year and 5 months, most of the time living together in Uganda, and married for 1.5 months. I have receipts and leasing agreements from those apartments, as well as other receipts, lots of photos in Uganda with him and his family, and medical bills with both our names, spanning almost that whole period.

We also want to include sworn affidavits from 3rd parties, and have them from both our mothers, friends and family who contributed to our wedding costs, other friends and church members who have given their detailed accounts of our relationship, and even a letter written by the LC-1 of our village stating that I was living with my husband's family back in November of 2015. In total, they are 10.

We also have plenty of Western Union receipts from my mother sending us money under my husband's name, and from me to him when I was in the USA.

Then there are thousands of facebook messages and phone call logs that we could include from when I came to the USA.

How much should we include of each category of evidence? Is there such thing as too much? What exactly did you guys include in your own packages?

Please give us your best advice as we want to mail off our package no later than next Monday, the 10th.

With thanks in advance,
Goobie1

Neither me or my husband are from Uganda but he's from a high fraud country and we front loaded our application to avoid any doubts that our marriage is bonafide and genuine. I had I think 80+photos and over 20 pages of screenshots of our conversations. I'm also still in his country until he get his visa in hand. My husband application was approved and we have our interview next week????

What you have provided I think is very good it's better to have more evidence than to receive a rfe and have to wait longer.

Good luck to you

Thank you for that advice. So I also feel we should include as much as possible at this point.

Good luck with your interview! I will say a prayer for you! <3

You are very welcome !! I also took a screenshot of the number of messages we have from whatsapp and most of the messages that I had favorited that he sent me.

Some people will say only send the bare minimum because what co will want to read through a application that's more like a book lol but i think it's harder when your dealing with a tougher country and embassy. Also make sure you have a entire copy of the application for when you have the interview you can show them the evidence you summited already in case they don't have it in front of them.

Are you able to file directly at the embassy??

Thank you so much for your good thoughts with our upcoming interview it's greatly appreciated

I think the fact you live with him is a huge plus. A lot of visas are denied in high fraud countries due to not enough visits/getting married on first visit then never seeing each other again.

I would include absolutely everything that proves you live together and co-mingle your lives and finances. You can never have too much (well, I mean you can but use your judgement!).

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Thanks for the encouragement! I have a worry though...I have just returned to the US to apply and I was again away for 6 months only 2 months ago!!! Do you think it could be a redflag? Sorry to keep coming up with worries. It is just that we want to get a good grip on what our chances are.

Worrying is normal but try to relax. I married in June and filed in August and was approved. It's good you stayed with him so long just make sure you show all the proof of being there so long. I forget if you said you had a apt lease or not but if you do include it and also boarding passes and your passport stamps showing you were there

Hey everybody! We just mailed the I-130 but I realized I forgot the high binder clip to keep it all together!!!! Is this going to be a problem? Everything was paper clipped into small sections with their own tabs, but they are all loose within the envelope now.

Awwww congratulations and good luck !!!

I used paper clips and there wasn't a problem. I read to not use staples because they put it in a scanning machine so I'm pretty sure you don't have to worry about that

Oops. We did use some staples for documents which were more than one page. Is it a serious problem??

By the way, how did your interview go?

If it's not in the application I wouldn't worry too much that's the only part that goes through the scanner is I'm not mistaken.

It's tomorrow morning and I'm super nervous and anxious

I'm so ready to go home ?
