Congrats!

I wish I can post the same this week.

I mailed my AOS, EAD, AP, I130 package on October 4th and USCIS received it October 5th.

I got a message on the 20th that they approved each case on the 18th.

Biometrics was on 11/08.

So do I start counting from the 5th or the 18th?

Hi all! While my husband and I are anxiously waiting for an EAD/AP I thought I would ask how long the green card we receive is valid for? I have read 1, 2, or 10 years?! We filed the I-485, I-131, and 1-765 all together when we got married. I read that after 3 years of him being here we could apply for Naturalization (N-400) but am curious if we will have to renew a green card before that? Just curious.

Thanks!

Depends on how long you're married for. If less than two years, the green card will be valid for two years (usually after approval of the i485 but sometimes after the filing date, you'll have to wait and see when the card is in hand). In that case, 90 days before the 2 year validity, you'll have to apply to remove conditions, depending on where your case is adjudicated can take over a year and you'll get the 10 year validity green card.

You can apply for citizenship counting three years from the first green card date if still married to the same petitioner

I'll have a job interview later today, if all goes well - going to expedite my EAD based on the job offer. Wee! Real life is about to start, hopefully.

Also AOS just got updated. Request for initial evidence was mailed. Sigh.

Wish they would just send the RFE for my wife. No updates on the website, did the biometrics two weeks ago and just waiting now. Know we're getting at least an RFE for medical. Would like to take care of it before the holidays.
