does green card package appear in USPS informed delivery once they create the slip at usps facility ? i heard it's impossible now to get a tracking number from tier 2 officer ?

No!  For some reason the shipment does not appear in informed delivery until USPS first scans the package. Does not appear when USCIS creates the label.

Hi everyone!

Yesterday my husband received his 797 saying he was approved for his AOS. It was dated March 14th. So we received the notice in 5 days. It doesn't say which card he'll receive as we're just a few months short of 2 years. I'm really hoping for the 10 year card. Also, since we never applied for travel documents will this allow him to travel out of the        U.S.? The site has not updated to show the new status. Go figure.

You will only receive a 10yr green card if the green card gets approved on the date of your two year wedding or after.

Like Dutchster said, he will receive the 2 year greencard as you hadn't been married for two years the day the greencard was approved. If you happen to receive a 10 year greencard that means USCIS has made a big error and you will have to send the card back and wait for a new one, so DON'T hope for a 10 year greencard.

He can travel just fine with his greencard, the travel document (AP) is only something temporary you can use while waiting for your greencard to be approved. If you had one it would become invalid the day the greencard was approved.

He received the card today and it's dated with the same date as the 797. So, yeah, you're right. Anyway we're happy to have what we have.

The site still hasn't updated.

So I think I might be one of the last ones in this group to get to the interview process haha but anyways, wanted to share our experience.

We had our interview scheduled first thing in the morning on Monday. I guess there was some issue with our original IO not making it in or running super late or something, but anyways after about an hour after scheduled interview time we finally went in with a bunch of documents, photo album, etc. Our replacement IO seemed very frazzled and was kind of odd/confusing? I'm sure it was likely due to being sporadically assigned a case first thing in the morning, but I don't exactly know how to gauge how the interview went. He asked the basic questions like where we met, have we met each other's parents, where was our wedding, when, how many people were there, when we moved in together, but then would forget what we said and ask again a few min later and then scribble it down on a piece of paper.

We have been married for almost 2 years now (married in August 2016) and living/working together for about 3 years. He kept asking why we didn't have any kids yet and said like "wow, you lived together for this long and nothing happened?!" and we weren't sure if he was asking about like our private life or making a joke. I'm just 24 and my husband is 29, we just said you know it's a few years away for us, I'm still finishing school and he's focused on settling into his career but it's not a top priority for us right now, but he was really persistent about the fact that we didn't have any kids. He was also really interested in our joint documents, not at all interested in our photo album (you never know what to expect I  guess it can go either way), which made total sense but we thought we were totally prepared and had plenty of joint documents that have built up over the past year in addition to what we initially submitted. So we handed over a bunch of documents (utility bills, lease agreements from the last two places we lived, credit statements, bank statements, joint car ownership/insurance, joint tax returns, etc.) and he kept saying that's it? that's all you have? and we were scrambling through our documents and just pulling out whatever we could find.

The one significant detail we overlooked was that his Medical expired (our interview was about 1 yr & 5 months after filing) so that was a pretty dumb mistake, but the IO said to do it asap and asked how long it would take to get it to him and we said before the end of the week. He said great, bring it in as soon as possible so we can make a decision on the case. We didn't get an RFE or anything at the interview itself, as I read in some of the past experiences, which was good I think. We just handed it in with the initial interview letter today as instructed.

It was just a very weird, chaotic experience honestly and I wasn't sure how much of it was meant to be like playful joking and how much of it was questioning our marriage especially in regard to the kids/documents thing. I'm really not sure how to feel. By the end of the interview, it seemed like he was set to make a decision asap once we got the updated medical in, but the rest of the interview was all over the place.

Just curious as to whether or not anyone else had a similar experience, and will update if we hear anything about the card in production.

Just got some notifications on this thread, so figured I'd post an update, in case anyone ends up in a similar situation as ours and isn't sure what to do next:

well, I'm convinced the AOS process will be neverending at this point

Our case was approved on March 27th, card mailed March 28... never delivered. Waited the 3 weeks recommended by USCIS, then went through the process of calling the service center, submitting SR to get tracking number, then checking our local post offices to no avail. Turns out USPS lost it in the mail and it was irretrievable.

Talked to USCIS officer on the phone and she basically laughed and said well, if the post office can't track it you have to file an i-90, so we asked how long after the i-90 would we get a replacement card... anywhere between 9-12 months

well, our two-year anniversary will be coming up in August, so maybe by the time we actually get the card it might be without conditions? Not holding my breath, just trying to be patient, and crossing fingers that we can manage to book an infopass appt here in LA to get a stamp in his passport in the meantime while we wait for the actual card in hand.
