Does anyone else in here have citizenship from a country impacted by the travel ban?

I suspect that the reason our case has not been transferred from the NBC to our local office yet is most likely due to that. At the past couple of infopass appointments, we were told it looks okay, but I'm not sure why it wouldn't have at least made its way to the local office yet, since our field office is processing i-485 cases as of January 10, 2017.

I also haven't received responses on the past two SRs (one filed in August, and one in November). They both recently got assigned to an officer for processing, but I have a feeling our case may be on hold indefinitely? Does anyone have any info or insight on this?

We have another infopass appt coming up, so we're hoping to get some clarification. But my husband is planning on traveling back to Iran over the holidays with the AP document, but now we don't know what's going to happen.

Just called USCIS and my EAD was approved on Jan 5th!!  Although I have not received the physical notice, still feel like the happiest person. Thought my experience is worth sharing.

NOA date: Aug 25th

(I know!!! it took awfully long, looks like the 90 days processing time no longer exists, as our attorney told us in the beginning, now be prepared of 4-5 months, if you get an RFE, it will be another story)

RFIE: Sept 25th

RFIE Received Oct 19th

EAD Approval: Jan 5th

Very interesting story: I contacted the congressional representative in late November as I was expecting a job offer, the lady has been very helpful and beyond. However, her liaison at the NBC sent her a SECOND RFE for my case arguing that my case was pending due to a second RFE. Neither me nor my attorney has received any SECOND RFE. My attorney insisted that this was an error. Since it's sent from the congressional representative, I can't ignore it. I sent our first RFIE responses to the congress office, she was so kind that she let her supervisor reviewed for me and they both agree that it should suffice. Then they escalated the inquiry to a supervisor in the NBC one week ago and got immediate response saying that this is their internal error, and I got approved in about a week.

I have also sent one SR myself on Dec 5th and got a rather generic response that is currently pending. Since that whenever I called they told me to wait. I figured tier two officers have WAY more knowledge than the representatives..you should all speak with a tier two if your case is out of processing time, which is now 4+ months. Good luck to everyone, you will all get approved soon!

so today i found a not so pleasant surprise in the mail, i went to my interview on sept 14th and got my i130 approval on the mail, now i received a letter addressed to me identical to the one for the first interview but that one was under my wifes name not mine, to show up at the local office, received also a copy of a medical exam form to be filled out since mine was expired already and a new affidavit form to be filled out. Also received a list of documents identical to the one i received for the first interview. I am freaking out, could this be a stokes even tho my i130 was approved?

I doubt it, We got our I-130 approved shortly after interview and then got hit with a RFIE a few weeks later.

Since you mentioned your Medical was expired they probably just want updated forms.Does the letter ask for both you and your spouse to be present ?

The letter i received was a G-56 Form asking me to show up, that letter is addressed to me and me only the first interview letter was addresed to my wife,  now on a separate paper the standard list of things they sent me for my first interview is included on this second one and it says to bring the wife. the weird thing i found is that it contained the forms i need to fill out again that were expired like medical and affidavit. Hence my worries, why couldnt they just ask me to mail it to them you know?

NYC office What is expected on a second interview? Is it bad?

A second interview is often a so called "stokes interview", it's the interview where they separate you and your wife and question both of you for an hour or so, then they compare your answers to see if they match. Google it and you will find lists of what kinds of questions you might get.

Yes. It could very well be a stokes interview. And yes, even if your I130 is approved, you can still be getting a second interview. Looks like your local field office is unsure you have a genuine relationship.
