Good, she asked us question based on my application. Where we lived in Jamaica, my birthday etc. Then questions on our life in the U.S and then asked how we met and then for evidence of relationship which we had plenty. Was a very easy going interview

[Day 57 ] December 01 - Status changed to "Request for Initial evidence was mailed"

[Day 61 ] November 05 - Received RFIE notice

I had my interview yesterday in Seattle. The immigration officer was in mid 30s, he went through every page in our file asked me the I-485 questions and asked my husband the I-130 stuff. He then asked us to give a timeline of our relationship and marriage. Then we got approved on the spot and he explained the 2 year conditional green card. Thanks to everyone in this group you have all been great! Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Well, you can be waived at any time, actually. Apparently my petition is already at a local field office and they can still approve me without an interview.

I was stuck at "fingerprint fee received" from December to June 16 and then it changed straight to "interview is scheduled". So basically, you can never be sure of anything in this process, sometimes the online case status never updates even if it should. My status never said "ready to be scheduled for an interview".

I wonder how slow Memphis field office is and if field offices even consider to waive an interview based on a long drive. (With traffic, 6 hours!) Maybe I just hope too much for that to happen lol

Traffic won't be an excuse because you are asking for a benefit, not the other way around, unfortunately. If you have loaded them with the documents and other proof of the bona fide marriage, they will be happy to waive it so the line shortens by at least 1 person. We're awaiting anything from Baltimore, it's been since October and apparently Baltimore is about 6 months longer than Memphis, TN. It should take you roughly 7 months to be done with them.

we did nt need to but a friend of mine said to ask if you can interview somewhere closer to home . our field office would have been a 5 hour drive too , but biometrics were closer .. maybe worth a try if you get interview date

I  know it's not an excuse, I was just joking around. Of course, I hope for a waiver but driving the 6 hours would be okay too. I had a request for initial evidence so my clock got reset, no seven months for me.. I'm already over eight months and counting.

Nashville only has an application service center. They are opening a field office in Nashville around this month or next I believe but I'm already at Memphis according to the response to my service request. Memphis and Nashville are the only USCIS offices in the area. Nashville is 1,5 hrs.
