This means that the NOA1 from AOS is an accepted document! Cause my i-94 is expired and I haven't yet gotten my EAD. I should have done this ages ago, instead of worrying so much. 

Awesome!! Congrats and drive safe!  How long did it take in total?

Well, I can see that the letter is printed out Feb 2nd, the day after I applied  but it just got here in the mail today.. so not very long since I was there right before closing on the 1st.

Passed the interview yesterday, guys!

 

It lasted for more than an hour only because the officer was kind of sharing some stories in between so I did the same

 

He asked several questions about my husband and I, then requested for some evidence. I showed him everything I brought with me and he requested if he could keep our bank statements/summary (since we have a joint bank account), copy of our health insurance, photos and our correspondences. 

 

Afterwards, he handed me the  permanent residence approval letter (conditional) and gave further instructions about it.

 

It was one long discussion but was all totally worth it

Had the interview for my wife today.  

 

When we arrived, it was about an hour wait which was not bad at all.  Or actual interview was incredibly simple.  The officer wanted to see passports, birth certificates and marriage certificate, added the information about our new baby to the application, kept our recent joint bank statement, went over the list of yes/no questions in the application and asked about the J-1 visa my wife is on which I pointed out said that she did not have to do the two years in her home country.  

 

He gave us an RFE for medical, which I knew was coming and that was it.  I had expected the medical RFE in the mail, but he said they do medical RFEs at the interview at their office.  Once we send in the medical it's 30 to 60 days until we hear of the decision.

 

The closest thing to relationship questions was "Where in Japan did you get married?" and I think he was more curious because he had been stationed in Japan.   We were through the interview in about 15 minutes.

 

Every interview is different, but bring everything you sent in as well as recent joint bank statements, etc..  in an organized folder so you're not flipping through all the different pages trying to find that one paper.

 

Timeline:

 

Oct 21 mailed packet

Oct 24 they recieved packet

Nov 9 or so for NOA

Nov 23 Biometrics

Jan 6 notice of interview scheduled

Jan 23 EAD approved

Feb 8 Interview 

Feb 8 RFE medical

Congratulations to those who got the greencard. I filed I-485,I-765 last October 28 and until now I didn't receive the EAD.

So we are in the same boat - my received date is October 24th and I still did not receive EAD either... Hopefully we will get a good news in the next few days.

We got a notice for EAD that said "New card is being produced". Anyone know about how long it takes to get card after this notification?

 

We haven't heard anything on AP or AOS yet.

We haven't heard anything on AP or AOS yet.

A week to two. You'll receive a combo card for EAD/AP. AOS can still take a while in most cases, up to a year.

I did . They answered by that they are backed up and that it has nothing to do with my case . That was about 2 weeks ago. Last Friday I called USCIS and spoke to a tier 2 officer again and he said they are working on my case if by 120 days I don't hear from them call again blah blah . FYI if by 120 days I get nothing I'm contacting my congresswoman .
