Depends on how long you're married for. If less than two years, the green card will be valid for two years (usually after approval of the i485 but sometimes after the filing date, you'll have to wait

We are at the same juncture,  but we don't even have that interview on our USCIS status. We received EAD combo end of February,  though only EAD displays only,  no AP...

  • February 21, 2019 - Received NOA with 18 month extension for wife ONLY, not 14yo dependent who is on application;
  • March 12, 2019      - Notified USCIS that we never rcvd i797 for 14 yo minor, they provided a case # and submitted a Svc Request
  • May 2.2019             -  No forward motion, we called again and despite there was an officer assigned to this service request nothing happened/ no extension. We filed an InfoPass and have an appointment for Monday 6th for passport stamp.
  • May 6, 2019 - Attended InfoPass appointment in Philadelphia local USCIS local office for 930. This was for a never rcvd 797 for our 14yo dependent. Arrived 9:15, not crowded at all. No extra photos or fingerprint taken. We were in the car (lots of parking available) at 945. Pleasant female officer, she updated and checked for no changes. Stamped passport, explained is valid for 1 year. The took the green card which expired 5/4/19. No issues or problems.. I asked about the non receipt and she said it's pretty common.. 
  • August 23 - Biometrics NOA, scheduled for 9/3 @1pm
  • September 3 - Biometrics
  • September 4 -Fingerprint Review was completed
  • January 8 - ROC, Card Being Processed, Citizenship is next!
  • January 15 2020  - Cards Delivered

 

N400 Citizenship :)

 

  • November 28, 2020     - N400 Filed online and paid via CC

Hey guys, just curious if I am researching this correctly and would appreciate your correction or verification!

 

My husband has his I-485 pending (fingerprint received is the status online) When I went to the USCIS Processing times for National Benefits Center I didn't see a line item for I-485 so then I went the field office section and looked up ours (Greer SC in our case) Is this the correct processing window we should be watching? 

 

Also, does that date on the processing times supposed to compare to our 'Fingerprint received' date? 

 

He has his EAD/AP card but I just want to be sure our case is still moving. I think it's odd they didn't schedule an interview yet and hope we could be lucky enough to just receive approval! :)

We have not even had the scheduled for interview notice. That may or not be a good thing though, some people don't have interviews.

Yeah, I'v been watching its slow progression. But, I have seen that some of the field offices of recent Green Card receivers are also processing things from March - June 2016.

Yes, you should be looking at the dates for your specific field office.  It's different for different offices.  But honestly, they don't mean all that much.  Many people get approved well before that.  However, if it says it is processing something past your date, then it's definitely time to call and check on your case.

 

I find it useful to look at the timelines of others on VJ to see an example of the range of processing times for people in your city.  You'll see that there's quite a range, and people don't all get approved in order.

Additional snafu: my fiancé came over on his visa, but just a month later (and the day before we were going to get married) he had an emergency that necessitated him returning to China.  I contacted the Guangzhou consulate via their email system, provided the requested documents/proof, and he was granted a second interview for "reissuance."  He had to re-do the medical, redo the interview (bringing yet another copy of all of the things he had to bring the first time) and we were approved again!  He received what looked like a new visa in his passport, but the original 90 day countdown for marriage was still ticking.  He came back to the US and we got married right away!

Remember it all depends on busy your local field office is. Adjusting from mostly K-1 visa can still take up to a year so expect twelve months, be happy with six.

Btw, that can be important for those who waiting, my status "case is ready to be scheduled for inter." Was never changed. I got a mail-invitation for inter.and status still the same. So you can download ups apk and track your mails if its on a way.

Finally my status of work authorization application has changed to New Card is Being produced!!! after over 5 months of waiting

F-1 visa/status, F2A category - child under 21 yrs old of permanent resident

AOS (i485, i131, i765) package received October 7th 2016

Biometrics appointment November 22nd but did walk-in November 16th

service request December 21st (75th day) - answer case within current processing time

January 6th service request online (91st day)

got answer on January 12th that my case is on hold because they sent me RFIE on November 3rd and I haven't answered yet...I never got any letter, no updates on website, when I was calling them no one told me that they are waiting for answer for RFIE, they kept saying my case is under review

january 26th USCIS received my answer for RFIE

March 10th EAD/AP approved 

March 17th combo card mailed

March 22nd combo card received

Day 143 since filing, 58 days since RFIE received, 32 days until we can file a service request. If this process has taught me anything, it is that patience is key and it could always be worse. Just grateful that we are almost at the new 90 day mark for RFIE so hope to have any sort of update (even just EAD to work!) sometime soon haha. Sending good vibes out to everyone else who is still waiting for updates! :)

Just grateful that we are almost at the new 90 day mark for RFIE so hope to have any sort of update (even just EAD to work!) sometime soon haha. Sending good vibes out to everyone else who is still waiting for updates! :)


My EAD got approved 64 days after they received my RFIE response, just hang in there a little! It'll all work out soon!
