Hello,

My fiancé and I plan on filing an I-129F upon my return to the States after visiting her in China next month. She is a "rank and file" CCP member, having been recruited when she was in college for excelling in her coursework and exams. I understand this generally warrants a blue slip at her interview, which requires additional processing time to review things like her resume and a statement describing the nature of her membership. It seems that some people bring this statement and resume to the interview, but does this actually ever speed up the process? Are there cases where the fiancé is granted the visa after the interview as a result of already having these documents on hand? In doing some research, it appears that some petitioners include a statement in the initial I-129F filing. Again, has this ever really expedited the process? On the other hand, I have heard it is best not to bring up the subject unless it is asked by the interviewer.

Sorry if this topic has been covered. I tried searching previous threads, but haven't found any recent consensus recommendations.

Thanks so much.

Chris

I know form DS-160 asks if the visa applicant is a member of a communist party. Her membership will certainly come up. While I'm no expert, I think it can only help to include paperwork, waivers, etc as early in the process as possible. If it's irrelevant to the USCIS, I think it'll get sent along anyway to the embassy with the rest of your i-129f packet.

I would suggest that you do a Google search for CCP membership and US Immigration, you may find more resources and informative websites, i.e., CFL. A letter is a good idea, I would base your response on this: https://archive.org/stream/nsia-9FAM40.34NotesImmigrantMembershipinTotalitarianPartybyU.S.DepartmentofState/9FAM40.34NotesImmigrantMembershipinTotalitarianPartybyU.S.DepartmentofState13p1.5vneZ_djvu.txt . I would suspect that rather than expedite a visa application, a blue slip at the GUZ interview for CCP membership would likely result in prolonged Administrative Processing times. I have seen reports of 6 months to a year, or more.
