Please Help! Choosing between K3 & CR1

I am completely and utterly confused as to differences in approval and processing time frames and just the whole process in general for both the K3 visa and CR1.

I have done some research but I end up just as confused as when I started.

Can someone please help me choose the best option?

Also is it best to go with a lawyer to help you or can one do it themaelves without any delay?

Also when they tell me about the evidence bit I get confused, my husband and I have photos of some family outings and our wedding photos, but we have no letters exchanged between us and cannot get phone bills ( I have metro pcs and they do not provide phone records of calls or messages). Not sure what other kind of proof we can provide?

Background on us, we have been married since the 4th of June of the year. We have never been married previously, have no criminal records and have no children at all.

Please help shed some light on us to illuminate our path on this difficult journey, we just want to be together finally and live in peace. Thank you for everyone's help in advance!

K-3 is obsolete. So it seems your only choice is the CR-1.

I keep reading that it is obsolete, which confused me as to why an immigration lawyer I spoke to gave it to me as an option?

Thanks for your reply! Do you have any info on the other questions? The proof and the processing timeline of CR1?

By the way forgot to add (not sure if it helps) that I am a U.S Citizen and my husband is from and currently residing in Guatemala.

Basically you need to file the petition leading to a CR1 in order to then file for K3. I have heard sporadic reports that filing for the K3 slowed down processing for the I130 CR1 visa. I wouldn't waste the time (and didn't) even trying for three K3. Why would you want a visa that is very very very rarely granted and is so inferior to the CR1? My thought was if that's what I really wanted, why bother getting married first anyway

The K3 was inacted when USC's waited years for their petition to be processed. Due to faster CR1 processing the CR1 is down to the same time as a K3. However the lawmakers have not removed it as an option so it technically still is. Because both the CR1 ans K3 get approved the same day most of the time the K3 ends up administratiely closed.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I think the current going rate for K3 is about 0.03% of all spousal visas.
