Medical in Algeria Details

Hello;

just came back from Al Azhar Clinic and here what you should know:

- Arrived around 8:20 am. straight to the 4th floor room 35 which is the reception (every floor have a reception).

- they gave you an envelope and ask you to put your file inside (passport, 4 pic 5x5, vaccines proof or book, embassy appointment)

- you give it back they gave you 3 forms one of them has your pic and they tell you to go to floor 1 for blood sample, then floor 0 to pay the fee (10,000 DA), then go to floor -1 (or basement) to do a Thorax X-ray (chest) and come back when you are done to floor 4.

- so floor 1 : they take one of the forms and ask you to wait your turn to take your blood sample, pretty fast and easy done.

- floor 0 : just go to the cash register pay the fee and stamp the rest of the forms and you get a receipt.

- floor -1 or basement : go to reception give them the forms, they ask you to wait for your turn till someone call your name.

- it was pretty packed and crowded I had to wait for around an hour till they called for me. when they call for you they take you to the room and do your chest X-ray. after they make sure it looks fine they tell you, you are good to go to floor 4 again (they had to do it twice for me).

- back to floor 4 around 10am. i was thinking while taking the stairs that things seems fine everything smooth no issue so far just see the Doctor and i will be done.

well I was wrong because here the nightmare started. as I got to the 4th floor i was still have a form left. I gave to the receptionist and she gave me a paper and said : read it and sign it. (the paper is attached here below).

the paper was saying that i give authorization to the clinic to proceed and perform a Biological sample (vaginal or urethral) as part of the medical exam requested by the embassy and i acknowledge being informed about the risk and complications of this sampling.

no one explained what it was, why and how it is done. i found some people there for the same purpose (medical for the US embassy but different VISA types).

some people signed and did not ask anything. Some were asking for details.

the receptionist clearly said : they were notified yesterday by the US embassy and requested this test for all applicant. and who refuse to do it will not have the medical completed.

I asked her : I cannot sign and acknowledge i was informed about the risk and complications when no one tell me anything or know anything about it. she said : I been told to give you this paper and say what I said. I have nothing more to say. so I told her ok. I will wait to see the doctor and have more info about this.

after a long wait for any info or updates, the Doctor was doing her consultations with other patient and the US VISA medical was left for the end.

around 1pm the receptionist told us that they don't have the necessary tools available to do this new test and who saw the Doctor leave his phone and we will call you when we can do it and you are going to have your results envelope after the test is done and they have no idea when. AND who still did not see the Doctor yet, to come back at 2pm because the Doctor have a meeting (which is not true, the Doctor wanted a lunch break to stuff her face) and you will not get your envelope today. so we left .. at least to take some fresh air and not look at their grouchy faces for few minutes.

at 2pm we returned to hell, the 4th floor. and we found somehow a good news, seems lot of VISA applicant complained about this new test and seems like they decided to do it in other ways. they change it to a urine sample. they will give you a form and an envelope with a container inside, they tell you go to the bathroom fill the container and take it to floor 1 and come back to see the Doctor.

waiting for almost 45 min for my turn. and around 2:45 they called my name. inside with the Doctor here are the questions and things done.

- which state you intend to go?

- do you suffer from anything or have any kind of disease or illness?

- have you ever been in a hospital for an emergency? any surgery?

- do i smoke? and then she asks you to sign one of the forms she was filling while i was answering.

then she takes your weight, height, blood pressure, heartbeat and finally a sight test.

I asked for a copy of the DS-3025 and she said no they are not allowed to give any info to the applicant. I told it is written on the form that the applicant must have a copy and she insisted no. she said the copy you need is your vaccine book and she gave me back my passport and vaccine book and she said: I have to take your phone number. It is too late to have the results done today, we will call you to retrieve your envelope when it is ready and if you don’t get it before the interview just go and tell them it is not ready yet.

I did not want to argue about the DS-3025 any longer I just left.

That was my journey at Hell's clinic. There were lot of VISA applicant. They always start with their regular patient and leave you last. No one took anything today, no envelope, nothing.

I hope you guys coming after will not have the same experience maybe they will be ready to do things in one day since they claim they were just informed about this new test.

oh i forget to say the Doctor did not take more then 5 to 10 min to do the check up. i left the clinic by 3pm.

This is a new test now unfortunately. Everyone will have it done

except the fee now is 17550 DA and waiting time around 10 days to get your envelope.
