Hi this has probably been covered but couldn't find a thread on it.

I haven't worked full time for the last 2 years and we want to use my mom as a sponsor for affadavit of support. Is it a problem that she is retired?

Mom fiance also has sufficent funds to show self support. He is from the UK but we live in Germany. I called the Frankfurt Embassy and they said they don't have a rule in regards to self sponsoring. I know that the UK allows it and he is a UK citizen. Does it make a difference even though he is interviewing in Frankfurt? Anyone have any experience with this in Frankfurt?

I believe many people use their parents for their co-sponsor. It should make no difference where she lives or that she is retired as long as she has the income to meet the requirements for you. I belive the co-sponsor guidelines are set by the USCIS not the individual embassies.
