Republican National Committee appears to have accidentally hit publish on a post declaring Indiana Gov. Mike Pence the winner of Tuesday night's vice presidential debate before it even began.

The post, which was taken down soon after Twitter noticed the error, was titled "Who won the presidential debate" and featured a picture of the Indiana governor.

"Americans from all across the country tuned in to watch the one and only Vice Presidential debate," the post said.

"During the debate we helped fact check and monitor the conversation in real time @GOP. The consensus was clear after the dust settled, Mike Pence was the clear winner of the debate."

The RNC claims Pence's top moments in the debate were when he spoke about the economy and highlighted Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's scandals.

It said the Indiana governor "made the most of his opportunity" to debate Clinton's running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.).

The post also offered praise for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Pence did win it, must be prescient.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

After Donald Trumps disaster of a debate performance last week, youd think hed be happy to get any sort of positive press at all. But according to multiple people citing sources close to the campaignDonald Trump is furious at being outperformed by Mike Pence.

I would say to a degree. Lost me at wanting to Make America Great again by re-introduction of coat hanger back room abortions though. And he pretty much completely failed, with the exception of remaining calm and deflecting, when asked to discuss Rump's ever nuttier policy positions and statements.

My take on this debate was that Pence did win and appeared much more vice-presidential than Kaine. My main takeaway from this is which one would I want to take over in the event of an issue with POTUS. Based on their performances and the current health issues with Hillary and age of Trump, I would rather see Pence takeover if necessary.

debate with a clear goal: make Mike Pence own all of Trumps most controversial moments.

But Kaine was unable, with Pence successfully parrying his attacks as the debate dissolved into a string of interruptions and contradictions with each of the candidates peppering the other with rhetoric but neither landing a knockout. After, Pence was lauded for his debating acumen, and on efficacy, the strategy scores high.

Story Continued Below

Scored on accuracy, however, Pence fares far worse. The main tenet of his strategy was to deny that Trump ever said these things to begin with despite the fact that many of the statements were both real and a part of the public record.

So Trump stopped live-tweeting 40 minutes before the end of the debate, and has not tweeted in the early hours-his android must have been taken away from him. This could be interesting...discord within the camp.

Pence lied and misdirected a lot. A dangerous combination of saying bad things but appearing like he is saying good things.

A lot of feel goods in a confusing mass of rambling talking points.

For instance, Kaine lists horrible things Trump has said. Pence says Kaine is just "being hurtful" and mean. Gosh, we wouldn't do that to you *bats eyes*. Denies that these things were said. Instead, they are just insults cooked up by Clinton. *shakes head.* Takes "insults" like a man. *Squints*

Either never listens to the nonsense trump spews or else has a guilty conscience, thus denies everything.

Yes! When Rump say's Mexico is sending us murderer's, rapists, and drug dealers but adds some "might" be good people, that is just Rump saying most are good people in a kind and non-broad brush way.
