how early can we do the medicals?

Hey folks!

So for some reason I thought that the medical exams have to be done after we got Case Complete from NVC. Seeing that I still haven't sent out my NVC package (but should be doing that in the next few days) can we already get our medical exams done?

I wouldn't recommend that.

The visa is valid for 6 months from the date of the medical exam. So if you have your medical before you send your stuff to NVC, if you then subsequently face a check list or a delay you might run out of time - especially if the embassy has a backlog of cases (some embassies have wait times of several months to get interview appointments).

Some (or most) of the doctors in Brazil will only let you set a medical appointment after you have the interview scheduled. Also, it's not advisable to have the medical too soon, as the date of the medical will dictate the visa validity.

Thanks! I was concerned that maybe there wouldn't be enough time between the scheduling of the interview and the actual interview but apparently it's not an issue. Very clear now thank you
